thanks John. Also. I have my DOM and footprint set up here but they are showing miuiss matching treaded volumes. why could this be?

M<y P{C was left on over night, perhaps while in sleep mode my DOM did not record volumes? do you know a way of preventing this from happening?

We need more information to know what exactly you are comparing and why they would be showing the same information (in other words, we want to make sure the Inputs are such that you would get the same information).

M<y P{C was left on over night, perhaps while in sleep mode my DOM did not record volumes?

This is definitely not the case. The data is the data and is only stored once. So if something was missing, it would be missing in both places.

thanks John,

The footprint shows net bid/ask on left and volume by price on the right

the DOM shows current traded total vol, current traded bid vol, current traded ask vol (first three columns from left to right)

Thank you for helping us understand what is in the image, but what items are you trying to compare? There is not going to be any connection between the Current Traded volumes and either the Numbers Bars or the Volume by Price, as the Current Traded volumes can start accumulating at any time.

ah ok, perhaps it was because i set the DOM up after the foot print - i will keep an eye on this and come back to you if i notice anything again :)

thanks

Just keep in mind that it would be hard to get these to match up. Refer to the description for the Current Traded columns here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/GlobalTradeSettings.html#ColumnDescription_CurrentTradedBidVolume

hi john, it does seem as if the data is ntot recorded on the DOM or at least the DOM is reset whenI take my computer out of sleep mode in the morning. The DOM values do not seem to be recorded over night. Is there a way of changing this?

If you are referring to the Current Traded columns, then the only way is to keep Sierra Chart connected at all times.

Hi Johhn,

I have a few mrore questions for you :)

How do I change the size of the text in the delta nad vvolume profiles shown on the left side of the DOM in this image?

and can you please explain what options there are to display the mid point on the TPO profile? ideally I would like a solid line that extends accross 50% of the width of the TPO profile... is that possible?

The first thing is to see if those studies happen to have a zero line option within them. We see one of the studies is the Cumulative Delta Bars - Volume which does not have this. We are not sure what your other study is. But for instance, the Bid Ask Volume Ratio study does have a zero line in it.

If the study you are looking for does not have a line built into it, then the easiest way to add a line at a specific level is to use the Horizontal Lines study and add the line through that. You would just need multiple instance of the study for each chart region in which you want the line. Refer to the following:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/StudiesReference.php&ID=113&Name=Horizontal_Lines

The only display option for the Mid-Point of the TPO is to color the blocks/letters a certain color. Refer to the following:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/StudiesReference/TimePriceOpportunityCharts.html#Input_HighlightMidpointInProfile

Also refer to the following for options on calculating the midpoint:

is there a way of requesting for it to be coded to enable the midpoint to be drawn as a solid line across 50% of the TPO profile?

also if I draw a chart drawing on my TPO chart, is there a way of superimposing that drawing on my candlestick and footprint charts across the sime time and tick range?

We have tagged this conversation as a Feature Request for the Midpoint of the TPO.

In terms of copying drawings, refer to the following:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/ChartSettings.html#CopyChartDrawingsfromChart

Just keep in mind that drawings are based on the anchor points which are a time and price. The TPO charts are bit different in this respect, so you may have to play with how you make the drawing in order to have it show properly on your other charts.

hey John,

just one last two:

how do i get the volume profile on the right of the daily candle stock chart to display more days?.. i think I have the settings wrong :S

also how do i get the Extended trading hours TPO value area opverlay to work - i have the reference chart set up for extended trading hours (21:15:00 - 14:29:59 GMT) and the TPO value area lines overlay set up as seen in the image however the overlay is not showing the ETH TPO Value area correctly.

Your VbP has the Volume Graph Period Type set to All Bars in Chart, so it is going to show you the information for all the bars. If you want to set 5 days, then you would need to set the following:
- Volume Graph Period Type: One Period at End of Fixed Time Length
- Time Period Type for 'Fixed Time': Days
- Time Period Length for 'Fixed Time': 5

Refer to these Inputs starting here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/StudiesReference.php&ID=141&Name=Volume_by_Price#Input_VolumeGraphPeriodType

I'm not sure exactly how you have this setup, but in order to use the Value Area Lines on a TPO chart, you would need to set it up on a separate chart (which it sounds like you have done) and then use the Study/Price Overlay to get those lines onto the TPO Chart. Refer to the following:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/StudyPriceOverlayStudy.php

And note that most studies can not be used directly with TPO charts. Refer to the following:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/StudiesReference/TimePriceOpportunityCharts.html#UsingOtherStudies

Thanks John,

But i have over 4000 days of bars loaded on that chart and the volume only shows for the first 20 or so days - could it be problem with my data feed?

re the TPO overlays - i am trying to set it up forr ETH TPO to overlay on candlesticks - i have the RTH ones working b ut the ETH ones do not show the TPO VAH and VAL accurately... the VAH seems to just sit at current price - can you think of what could be wrong here? :S

really appreicate all of your help buddy! :)

Your VbP is correct. Note that the you can see the tail going down to where the data is. So you can see that the volume is decreasing significantly as you go back in time. This is because you are just looking at the M contract month.

To see all the data going back multiple years, you need to use a Continuous Futures Contract. Refer to the following:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/ContinuousFuturesContractCharts.html

-----------

With regards to the TPO Value Area Lines, it all depends on how you are setting this up. If you have a chart with both Day and Evening sessions, then it is best to just use one instance of the TPO Value Area Lines and then set the option for New Period at Day Session Start When Using Evening Session to Yes. Then you would get the Evening Value Area Lines displayed on the Evening session and the Day lines on the day session. Refer to the following:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/StudiesReference.php&ID=158&Name=TPO_Value_Area_Lines

Otherwise, we would need to know exactly how you have things setup and what it is you want to see and how to see it so we can direct you further.
