Data Lag Issues Since Switch from TT to CQG with Denali

Ever since the switch to CQG from TT for amp users, I noticed my data tends to lag, especially on my 2nd instance. I am constantly deleting and downloading intraday data to get it to catch up. My 2nd instance can fall behind 1 to 2 minutes, while my main instance experiences lag of up to a minute. The lag occurs during heavy volume parts of the day. Today around 1:05pm when the market dropped, both instances completely completely froze for almost 10 minutes. I am mainly running ES charts, but all charts get effected by this, lag is chartbook wide.

I was previously using your TT/Denali solution for almost a year with no such issues. I have 1 gigabit/sec internet connected via lan right into my computer, so data connectivity isn't the issue. I run an i7 core with 16gb of ram, so resources shouldn't be the issue either. I don't use an anti-malware program as I only run sierracharts on this computer.

I have read your "Help topic 4: Prices / Data Falling Behind" and nothing there applies.

I am hoping you guys can help identify/address this. With everything else being equal, TT/denali seemed to work much better, so it must be something with that change? Let me know, thanks.

Does not make sense based upon of the connectivity and computer you describe.

both instances completely completely froze for almost 10 minutes.
Could you interact with the user interfaces at that time?

When you notice the problem we need to the heartbeat logging as explained here:

Another thing is that if you notice a significantly different delay between the main instance and a sub instance, something is not right on your system. That should not be happening. And 1 to 2 minutes is a severe lag.

When it froze the screen had a turning a circle on it, couldn't interact at all.

Will try heartbeat logging.

Ok, then this is not an issue with the data feed. Instead it is some general performance issue. Therefore, refer to this help topic:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often

For different things to check to reduce CPU load.

Hi, this is becoming a huge problem as it occurs when market volume picks up. I am also missing fills as the dom is delayed and i don't always have time when trading to reconcile my platform clock with my computer clock, and find out only after the fact. I never had this issue with TT/denali/amp on the same set up. I got a heartbeat log today. At 3:50pm EST, i was about 30 seconds behind. I then did a delete and download data from current and everything froze for 3 or 4 minutes and couldn't trade anything.

Here is the heartbeat log. If we can't do anything here, I assume there are no other broker/data feed options?

This is not a data feed issue. If you have a major problem, close your Chartbook, and immediately stop using it. The configuration of that Chartbook is creating a very high CPU load.

You need to start with a new more simple set up and use multiple instances of Sierra Chart.

Use one for trading and another one for your charting. All of this is explained here:
Overview of Trading: Sierra Chart Configuration for Most Low Response Time Trading

I am also missing fills as the dom is delayed and i don't always have time when trading to reconcile my platform clock with my computer clock, and find out only after the fact.
All of these details, are not very clear to us and do not make complete sense, but there will definitely be missing fill issues when using CQG.

Look at moving to a different broker that supports the Sierra Chart Order Routing Service. Check the list of brokers here:

Wanted to circle back on this. I have disabled windows 10 auto update checks in the services.msc files, and this has helped a lot. I am also going to change my set up as you advised to using a very light execution instance with DOM and 2 charts, 4 days history for charts.

Thank you for your assistance.
