i have 2 computers. one to process my indicators, and one to execute trades with. the one that im trading with i make sure its connected to the live feed, since i can only have one 1 live feed per account. this works fine. the other one im trying to get delayed data to it to run indicators on. it doesn't seem to be pulling any data real time. if i force it to redownload data, the data will be up to date. Am i missing something, or does SC not provide delayed data for stocks?

btw i did try the "allow sierra chart data feed" setting both ways and it didn't work per https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/DelayedExchangeDataFeed.php. seems to be geared more for futures, couldnt find info about stocks

You need to keep the option "Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds" set to "Yes".

We do not have Delayed Streaming data for U.S. Equities. What you are getting is the way the data is available when you are not getting the Real-Time data. It will update every n minutes as defined in your Data/Trade Service Settings and will be delayed data. Refer to the information here:

is there a way to force an instance of SC to only use delayed data, and not connect to the real time feed when available? i have it on two comptuers and the real time connect feed can jump back and forth as i restart SC during development and test

If you set the option for File >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds to No, then you will get the Delayed Data, assuming you do not have data setup to come from your Trading Service.

Refer to the following:
Data/Trade Service Settings: Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds (Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Common Other Settings)

ah ok got it. one last question i thought of last night. within one account, regarding stock data. is it possible to have one computer connect to SC live data server, then a second computer connect to Interactive Broker, merging with SC's historical (+ intraday historical) data? I notice during after hours there can be differences in price between SC data and interactive brokers. Since IB is my broker their real time data would be "correct", but i'd prefer SC's historical data for obvious reasons. I cant seem to find it anymore, but I recall seeing something a few weeks ago about the Advanced Package allowing this combination of IB live data and SC historical data.

1. Is this still a feature or has something changed? looks like a lot of changes to the data services lately.
2. Will this work for stock data
3. Will it still allows another computer take the live connection limit (since live data is coming from IB in this case).

In order to get the Sierra Chart historical data, you would need to subscribe to the Data Feed. You do not need to pay for the exchange itself. In this case, since you are looking for the historical U.S. Equities data, you would need to subscribe to the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed for $25.00 USD per month (again, do NOT activate the U.S. Equities exchange, just the data feed itself).

It will allow the Real-Time data to come from IB.

what im wondering if i can do a combination of both within one account. So realtime data from SC on one instance/computer, then IB realtime data + SC historical data on another.

I currently have IB, with the data feed and equities exchange. I have one computer connected to the SC Data + real time feed. Then on the other, i have it connected to IB. On the second computer, if i have "Allow SC Data Feed" disabled, it will download data directly from IB. If i have it enabled, it conflicts with the "only one real time connection" limitation. Is there a way to enable both functionality?

You have us a bit confused. From what you are stating it should work.

Computer 1: Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds: Yes. Getting Real-Time data from Sierra Chart.

Computer 2: Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds: No. Getting Real-Time data from IB and historical data from Sierra Chart.

Let us know what is not working with this particular setup.

Ah i see im starting to understand the nuance of this feature. It looks like it will keep any prior data downloaded through SC Data. Once i disable "Allow SC Feed", it will use start using IB data. If I "delete and download data", it will also pull from IB. Am I understanding this correctly? I tend to pull a lot of data so i was having a lot of issues with IB stalling when adding new symbols, but i think i can work around this if i understand its behavior.

The other thing that threw me off is that sc.Bid and sc.Ask returns 0 when I have IB set up this way. I need this to see the current spread. Is there a way to still pull this info?

interesting, the bid/ask problem is fixed by enabling 'show bid/ask lines'
