We do see the Saturday data for CME symbols and we have never seen that before. We think this is from some test data that the CME transmitted on Saturday. We will have to add a filter for it. Why they would do this to begin with we do not know. This is plain dumb. That is erroneous data from the CME.

The pricing is not valid. It is not the same as Friday and it does not match up with other days in the week.

Historical chart data will be downloaded every 24 hours per symbol for open symbols. It can happen at different points of time. If you are experiencing freezing, refer to this help topic:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often

This is a performance issue based upon your configuration. So it is your configuration which you created which is causing the problem. Not Sierra Chart.

Historical charts absolutely have a dependency upon the time zone. And it may not be correct in your case. Refer to:
Time Zone Setting

If you are having any problems, with the historical chart bars not being accurate at times, make sure all of those charts are using the US Eastern time zone. See link above.

Although there can potentially be a period of time of inaccuracy near the end of the day. The solution is this:
Historical Chart Prices: 12.6 - Always Beginning Historical Chart Bar at Specified Time According To Symbol

We are going to add a new Symbol Setting to control the start time of the daily chart bar. Rather than depending upon session times which can be differently configured.

First of all, pls excuse my tone. This was under my skin for quite some time. All you guys are doing a great job and SC support is stellar!!!

However, how would the additional symbol setting help? How does it make sense to have a different start time for the historical daily bar compared to session time settings?

I just see more complexity.

And also we now have read what you wrote in the image attached (Post #5), and the trading for a particular trading day date does begin in the prior day. In the case of your example it began 18:00 US Eastern time on Thursday. There is simply no problem here. If you have questions contact the exchange. You really should understand how their data and session times work.

It is just not right to be taking our time with these things, any for you to be wasting all that time writing about something which you should already understand.
