Hi guys,

I had an open position which I "Flattened", which was rejected as "no order in Book" even though clearly on chart. So, "flatten" again. Then all chart positions gone. I've called broker to be certain I am FLAT and no working orders. However, I notice that in Trade Activity Window it shows 2 "trades" ie 4 fills, but in the Trade Orders Window I only see 3 Fills.

I've had this type of crap happen previously and it cost me ALOT... I know this is only peanuts this time, but I need to know what occurred and why I only see 3 fills in Trade Orders Window.

Thanks,

Eliza

Update

I can now see 4 fills - had the window sorting according to something other than Entry Time.

But still concerned about the original error messages that enticed me into hitting FLATTEN for the second time.

With position Open, and OCO on chart, these messages said unable to cancel a no orders in book ????????????????

even though clearly on chart.
What was on the chart? A Position or an Order? Or both? These are different.

but in the Trade Orders Window I only see 3 Fills.
Refer to:
Trading Information Windows: Automatic Clearing of Orders

It is possible the issue is what is described here:
Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Rejected Market Order When Using Flatten or Reverse Because of Position Limit Exceeded

You need to analyze the Trade Activity Log to see what has happened:

There is no need to be asking us. We do not know. Only you will know.

guys,

This is the order of events from my experience and corroborated in the log;

1. position Open with OCO orders (visible on chart and in log)
then
2. Flatten only closes position and fails to clear OCO orders due to "no orders in book" listed in log. and Orders still appear on chart.
3. Position is closed - which I failed to realize as orders are still active.
4. I think what has occurred is that the Orders failed to be cancelled when FLATTEN was initiated and so my OCO stop was filled.
4. So, I hit FLATTEN again it closed that position.

The issue for me is the message from TT of "no orders in book" and then they get filled.

Can you respond to the issue of OCO not cancelling once position is closed please
Thanks,

Eliza

We need you to provide the information here:
Trade Activity Log Analysis: Support Assisted Trade Activity Log Analysis

There is a cost for us to look at this at 55 USD per hour. It will be sufficient to add 20 USD to your account.

So we need you to add credit to your Sierra Chart account:

https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=AddAccountCredit

Also, your explanation cannot be technically correct either:
2. Flatten only closes position and fails to clear OCO orders due to "no orders in book" listed in log. and Orders still appear on chart.

We did actually locate those rejections and they are completely valid since the orders were either filled and canceled already.

I'm not paying for you to look at logs

I'm going to forget this incident and monitor the system

Right, and we are not going to spend our time looking through your logs and your case. This is why we charge for the time. We bill for our support time. It is not free.

Furthermore, what you said is just not true:
2. Flatten only closes position and fails to clear OCO orders due to "no orders in book" listed in log. and Orders still appear on chart.

Thinking about this a little more, probably what happened is that you flattened the position at the same time the stop or target order filled. In which case, the child orders (target and stop) that you attempted to cancel were already canceled/filled and that is what generated the error messages and you ended up with a new position which you had to flatten again.

So there is nothing wrong here. It is just simply a matter of understanding what happened.

And this is why we charge for the analysis.
