Well, after getting harassed constantly by SC software to upgrade, I upgraded from 1626 to current latest and greatest version 2017. Now, it refuses to log into my Trade/Data server (Transact). I've checked user name, password, and account number and all looks good. Also, my trading platform (InfinityAT) is open, and I'm able to log into Transact account, so it's not a problem with Transact, or InfinityAT.

There are update notices given for older versions related to updating and you really do need to update but not sure what is meant by "harassed constantly". This does not really make sense to us.

Most likely you are getting this error:

Yes, that's the message. I've been with Transact/Infinity for over 10 years, and almost about the same time with you (SC), so I'm pretty sure, I know how to enter the right user name and password. My main trading computer with 1626 version is able to log in as usual, except for this back up home computer with 2017 version. So, it doesn't seem like it's the issue with Transact.

I only updated due to constant messages urging me to update, every time I start up SC, and they still show even after checking "do not show again" option, and that's harassment in my book. And now, I've updated and it doesn't work any more, you tell me to go contact Transact. Frankly, SC comes free with Transact accounts, and I don't have to pay you subscription fees, I only kept it due to nostalgic reasons, and if this is how you treat your 10 year customer, then this is the end of the road for us.

And what does the documentation say in regards to an Account Logon Error? Once again here is the documentation:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/TransAct.php#AccountLogonError

First contact TransAct Support and ask them to allow your Transact account to be able to use the websocket connection with Sierra Chart. This is an essential first step.

This is a very good example, of why it is, we are no longer willing to support a model for connectivity where there is a secondary login. It is not worth the trouble. We spent far too much time with these kinds of issues which we have absolutely no control over. It is fully the responsibility of Transact to assist you with this. Fully their responsibility. It is like asking us, to let you into your own house and not providing us any help or any key. And where the door has been deliberately bolted from the inside and there is nothing we can do.

We have to look into why the the system notification message continues to appear. It might be because you are on a significantly older version and we want to make sure that you do update and there may be a timestamp in the message. But we have to find out about this.
