Hello Sierra. I am getting an average of 1.3 spread on EURUSD with FXCM.
My account is: ******

I should be getting an average of 0.6. When I log into the FXCM tradingstation platform I see the spread is 0.6. But when I log into Sierra the spread is 1.3

I have contacted FXCM. this was their response:

"If you see something different from this spreads on the platforms which are not FXCMs', but third party, please contact the platform support (Sierra) directly."

Please let me know if this is your side or theirs?
Thank you.

This is the latest message from fXCM.

As my colleagues have mentioned in past email threads, as far as FXCM is concerned your spread should be and is 0.6 pips.

If you are seeing something else in a third-party platform, you must contact the third party platform to inquire why that is so. As far as we are concerned there is no reason why your spreads would be different.

Please send a support ticket to Sierra here and forward us the reply.

Why is it that FXCM does not consistently provide a consistent spread for all users we do not know. We need to ask them about this. Please allow some time for us to get to this. This is an involved process to resolve. Because they will need to provide us a different market data feed, which matches the spread you are using.

Please consider using LMAX instead:

Sierra you are correct. FXCM have 2 different account types.

Spread betting account = No tax on profits (only in the UK and Ireland)
Standard account = You pay tax on profits (rest of the world)

For the spread bet account, the EURUSD spread should be 0.6
For the standard account, the EURUSD spread should be 1.2

FXCM are obviously sending you the standard account data feed.

Hopefully, that helps with your enquiry.
FXCM replied to me and are also investigating on their side.

How do I provide FXCM with the fix logs?

From FXCM:
We have reached out to management as well as the API department, we have checked the logs and it seems that you are not login into Sierra with the same account and that is most likely the reason for the discrepancy.
Can you please confirm which account number you are using to connect to Sierra?
Also if possible for Sierra Chart to provide the "FIX" logs for your account that would be helpful for us to further investigate.

Sierra. I have been corresponding with FXCM and they are working diligently to fix this issue. They need the FIX logs to be able to resolve the matter. Here is the email I got from them:

If possible, can you please see if you can get the Sierra "FIX" Logs and provide them to us.
Sierra support should be able to provide you with this.
We need to check on those logs in order to assist further.

Please can you supply them with this information?
Thank you.

We know what the issue is. We will be looking at this on Monday. There is no need for any log.

We are very familiar with this type of issue and we do have another feed which has the pricing that you need. That feed is operational. We have always had it on our server but it has been unused.

We will put out a new release later today, which has this new Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Service Setting: " Use MiniReal Price Feed". You will want to set this to True and reconnect to the data feed and that will give you the tighter spread.

Hi Sierra,
That data feed was working yesterday. It is frozen today.
I am back on the old connection again which seems fine.

This does not make sense to us unless the FXCM feed from FXCM was not transmitting data for that period at that time. We are not observing any problem. You can switch to the mini real feed. It is operational.

Trust me. I am not getting the feed. The charts will update and load historical data but do not show live prices.
See screenshots. They show the trade settings with the chart in the background.
The double green line in the one image is the 'bid/ask' study.

One has the spread with live prices updating.
The other one has no spread and price does not update.

The only difference is that one has the 'minireal price feed' enabled.

Really what we need for something like this is a Message Log according to our instructions. Anyway we do not need it. We ran a test and we see the same thing and we know why there is a problem. We only have this feed set up on one of our servers, and Sierra Chart is alternating between different servers. So it had connected in this instance to the one that does not have the feed. Just give us about an hour to get this set up on the other server.
