[User Discussion] [Locked] - Bid/Ask volume data on 15 Range candle

Hi,

I currently use the VBP study to display Bid and Ask Volume data on the price chart. I select 'Multiple Profiles based on Fixed time' as the Volume Graph Period Type, and then select different time intervals for e.g. 5 minute or 15 minute as 'time period for fixed time'. But when I use this on a Range based chart, the study display (i.e. bid ask volume data) appears very messy and all over the chart.

Is their a way to see the bid/ask volume data appear properly on a Range based chart? how can the bid/ask data be sized properly (not sure if sized is the right word) so it appears neatly within the Range bar candle.

Use this setting "Multiple Profiles Based on Bar Count" and set the bar count to 1

The answer given in the prior post is the correct way to do this.

Thank you so much for your timely response much appreciated.

Question:

In continuation of my earlier, question above, how can I make font for the bid ask volume data on the price chart to remain 'constant size' say Arial size 12, and be aligned 'centred' with the 14 Range candle?

Hi,

If i want to maintain a constant space between my 15 Range candles which also have the bid/ask data how can i do that?

And if I want to all the candles to remain visible within the window, without the need for me to manually pull them up/down, how can I do that? if i choose the automatic setting, it gets very squished as the candles are 15 Range with bid/ask data in them.

Appreciate response.

We really do not see how this is going to be possible. Refer to the documentation here:
Numbers Bars: Scaling a Numbers Bars Chart

You may want to use a Constant Range scale for that chart.

Hi

I currently have come up with a set of indicators and different charts for CL futures, that I've saved as a template. In case my laptop dies, is there a way I can save and then be able to use this template on a new laptop after downloading Sierra on the new laptop?

Appreciate response.

To backup files to another computer, then refer to the information in the following link, which gives you the files you would want to copy:

Hi

how can i plot moving average so that it appears as a ribbon? for e.g. if i have Exponential Moving Ave on my chart for say 20, 50, 100 periods, instead of having 3 different separate lines, how can i make them appear as an band or envelope?

appreciate response.

If you enable this option are there chart bars in the chart which exactly start and end at those times?:
Chart Settings: New Bar at Session Start (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Session Times >> Intraday Chart Session Times menu)

If so, then you can use this study:
Horizontal Line at Time

Thanks for the response. But my question is how can I CHANGE the default order quantities? for e.g. if instead f 5 as a default, i want to have 3. So where do I go to change these default quantities?

Not exactly sure what you mean but maybe this?

Global Symbol Settings

Thank you so much for your prompt response :)

Question: i'm currently looking to design make a formula so that when certain conditions have been met, a trade can be triggered. Having said that where can I find examples of existing formulae that others have used? appreciate response.

Appreciate response.

We will put together an example for this. Basically you would use the One Period at End Based On Bar Count for the Volume Graph Period Type.

Sorry for the delay in getting this to you. We have put together the information for how to display one profile for the last 9 bars in the chart and highlight the Point of Control. You will find the settings here:
Volume By Price Study: One Volume Profile for Multiple Bars

As we were working on this, we were wondering if you were wanting a profile for each bar, but only for the most recent 9 bars. If this is what you were asking for, then that is not supported. You can use the Input for Number of Days to Calculate Volume Profiles to limit the number of profiles to the current day. Refer to the information for this input here:
Volume By Price Study: Number of Days To Calculate Volume Profiles

hi

i tried adding the 'spreadsheet system for trading' and played around with it for a bit, but found it a bit overwhelming. So i removed that THIS study. However, now when i try to 'replay' the chart, and click on the 'replay chart control panel' from the drop down list associated with the chart replay function, nothing happens? previously when i clicked on this, a new chart replay panel will popup and i could reply the chart, but not anymore.

How can I get the chart replay function back?

appreciate response.
