I am attempting to delete all my personalized Study Collection files from the database following the instructions located at: Study Collections: Delete a Study Collection

When I complete the deletion process the Study Collection Files remain when platform is restarted? What if anything am I doing wrong?

Therefore, they must be getting downloaded from the Sierra Chart web server for your account. You can disable that here:

Thank you for your response...As you can see from image this feature is and has been DISABLED, Yet still cannot remove study collection files. See attached screenshot

When you restart Sierra Chart after deleting the Study Collection files and then go to Window >> Message Log, do you see the files getting downloaded there?

I have attempted again to delete Study Collection per deletion instructions...Rebooted and Study Collections remain...I have attached a copy of the Message Log for your review.Will await further guidance.

You need to log into this Support Board with the Sierra Chart account that message log is for. You can do that through Help >> Support Board from the instance of Sierra Chart you are having this issue with.

Otherwise, we cannot help. When that is done post here again.

OK I have logged into Support Board via the Trading Platform access...What is next step to solve Study Collection issue?

***You can close this support ticket regarding Study Collection...I have received outside assistance in deleting the referenced study collections. By point of observation...Instructions posted in your online support is very ambiguous and confusing. I learned that removal of Study Collection is simply a 2-step process, neither of which is well documented. Suggestion would be to update and present more clearly for end-user.

There are three very basic steps here to do this:
Study Collections: Delete a Study Collection

What is ambiguous about this?

The documentation does not mention automatically downloaded Study Collections because that is not the usual case. This is not applicable to when someone is deleting a Study Collection they created.

All do respect, that is the very process I attempted to use but did not work...I was directed from an outside programmer to remove files via this section within my Sierra Account Custom Study File Group.

Certainly the documented method works to delete Study Collections.

For the user account at post # 10, that account is set to allow File Downloads. You need to disable file downloads on that particular account if that is the account where you want to delete the Study Collections from.

What you describe at post #12 is not the right way to solve this. If you have disabled file downloads, they simply will not be downloaded regardless of the file groups you have set up.

Reference post # 3 where I show that file download was and had been "disabled", yet deletions still did not occur following step by step documented process. As such 3rd party programmer assisted as was posted in #12...Either way...Study Collections have been successfully removed from the file group and we move forward.

Apologies for any past uncalled for rudeness in previous postings. I meant no disrespect yet expressed frustration in accomplishing what should have been a seemingly easy task of file deletions.

We checked and it was not disabled on the Sierra Chart account used to post, post #10. That is the problem. It needs to have been disabled on that particular account.

Disabling file downloads on the Sierra Chart account which is used to authorize custom studies for a particular user, does not affect the user account the files are downloaded to.
