i thought that might have something to do with it. so i connected a 2nd instance on the 2nd computer to IB. i then exited out of the 1st instance on the 2nd computer connected to sc datafeed, and restarted that one. but, no dice

oh i see, the broker connection has to be from the same instance, not just same computer. is it possible to run real-time sc data as the only data connection from a separate instance even if broker connect on a different instance, you all would know i have broker account from other instance

In an upcoming release, if you have authorized one instance, then the others will be authorized but that still would require you to restart the authorized instance and the others after. i have only one instance running now on 2nd pc. connection is IB, with SC data checked as historical chart datasource i want to chart and trade IB-only symbols, like nikkei mini (N225M-201909-OSE.JPN-JPY-100) however, when i do, the chart appears blank i notice in the symbol list, there is 'IB Forex (For Trading)' group, which lets you chart and trade IB-only forex products could something similar be done for IB-only futures ?

This has been corrected. It was an exchange authorization issue for your second Barchart account. Being you just require CME data, next month use the Denali Exchange Data Feed which will avoid this kind of problem to begin with: Denali Exchange Data Feed Since there is no involvement with Barchart or their authorization system with that data feed.
