I run 2 instances of Sierra Chart on a 4 monitor setup.

A few days ago, the Compact Tool Values window disappeared on the second instance. Today, it disappeared on the first instance.

I tried unchecking "Show Compact Tool Values Window" in the Windows menu, exiting Sierra, yes to save all. When I reloaded Sierra and then turned on the check for "Show Compact Tool Values Window" it is still not there.

It may have something to do with the multi monitor setup. When I had the Compact Tool Values Window functioning, if I moved the instance of Sierra Chart from one monitor to another, sometimes the Compact Tool Values Window would (randomly?) move to a different monitor. So I am wondering if in fact the Compact Tool Values Window is still "open", but it's just being "displayed" somewhere off the visible desktop. Maybe that's totally wrong.

Thanks!

Assuming you can have a Windows instance spread over more than one monitor (this may not be your standard way of working but you may have had it like that): incur for that again with each of your Sierra instances. It's my guess you will see it somewhere at e.g. pixel (width) 3000 while each monitor is e.g. 1080 only. Thus, actually drag the Windows instance as wide as your widest adjacent monitor setting.
Found the form ? then drag it to the left of your Sierra instance of concern, then drag back right edge of the Sierra instance to normal proportions and save. Set back that Windows instance to its own monitor (and maximize again if you want).

I have been searching for such a form for days, and this finally solved it on a bright moment.

My problem persists even after following the above steps. I get an unhandled exception error while resetting child windows. I do have 2 instances of sierra chart installed on my machine.

the other behavior is that while I am drawing a tool say a line, while I am dragging to draw the line the compact tool shows. the moment I let go of the mouse and complete the drawing the compact tool windows disappears.

We are not sure why you are getting the unhandled exception. We will have to look into that.

But with the Compact Tool Window showing when you are using a tool, that means that you have the option for Tools >> Tool Settings >> Action When Other Tools Selected set to Always Enabled When Using Other Tools.

This means that the Compact Tool Values Window should show up in general in that same location when you have it enabled and using the Crosshairs. Worst case, use the Line tool and when the compact window shows up move it to a location where you want it, then try using the Crosshairs with it.
