I am having a problem with the candles opening and closing on time. Please see attached video. The times appear to be random. Some bars last for 3 seconds, other bars last for 30 seconds on a 10 second setting. This happens with no studies/indicators on the chart and no other chartbooks/programs open. This problem seems to occur at all times. My system specs are adequate. Data is provided from the CQG FIX server. Please advise any solutions or direction. Thanks in advance!

If this question is about Range bars, then refer to:

We did not look at the video. Just provide an image of the chart if you need more help:

The problem is not with Range bars. It is with basic 10 second candles. Sometimes a candle will last for 3 seconds, other times it will last for 30+ seconds. A screenshot will not illustrate the problem. Please take the 1:35 to watch the video.

This does not look unusual to us. You are not going to see a bar consistently every 10 seconds. The market activity is not necessarily like this. There is nothing wrong here.

That's so incorrect it's not funny , my bars open every 10 sec on the dot , that would mess up any algos or times orders if that was case so maybe look into it for the guy

So let me get this straight - Sierra's time bars dont open and close on a specified time? So If I set it to 1 minute bar, I might a bar close every 45 seconds or every 20 minutes?? Just whatever the market activity is? Did you even watch the video?? There is no way that what I'm experiencing and what I recorded is normal.

Refer to:
Prices / Data Falling Behind: 4.10 - Market Not Active

Also make sure the Intraday Data Storage Time Unit is not set to greater than 1 Second:
Data/Trade Service Settings: Intraday Data Storage Time Unit (Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Common Settings)

It is not our responsibility to provide any further explanation. You need to understand the market activity of what you are trading.

How the hell can this be? This sounds absolutely ridiculous

The market doesn't operate like this?

And a 10 second candle on your platform doesn't open and close in 10 seconds and that it's not your responsibly to further explain this?.........

I noticed this problem also.

If i have a 5min candle chart open, each candle should be 5 mins from open to close simple as that.

This should never be an issue on any platform.

Please look into this.

It seems strange to have time bars that don't operate based on time but I know the Sierra team will address this issue in a timely manner.
