For an understanding of the connection parameters difference between what Rithmic says Sierra Chart should be using and what Sierra Chart is currently using, see the attached screenshot. What Sierra Chart is using is on the right side. You can see they are minor and effectively there is no difference in the domain names. Whatever the connectivity issue today was, we would think Rithmic would be able to resolve this from their side understanding the connection parameters being used. For a reason why we cannot update the settings, refer to: https://www.sierrachart.com/SupportBoard.php?PostID=149895#P149895 One thing we can potentially do is rollback the code for the Rithmic bridge program to an earlier state when there apparently was not a problem and build and release that but we are not comfortable with that with all of the code updates we have done since then. And then we would have trouble using an earlier version of Visual C++ most likely. What we tried right now is doing a release build of the Rithmic bridge and tested the execution of it. It seems to run fine but being we see unstable behavior in the debug build we are not totally sure about releasing it but we will go ahead and do that. It will be in the next release. Also it really is very clear Rithmic can solve this issue from their side. And they should. And we do not know whether this new bridge program is going to be stable or not. It would have been very irresponsible for us in the past to have released it but we are now and we do not even know what the consequence of it is going to be. It could be fine but in our judgment, it should not be trusted. But to what extent it is going to cause a problem we do not know. For example we would never release our main program Sierra Chart with such a problem. We would determine the problem and resolve it. But this situation is unresolvable by us because we do not control the source code and because the whole concept of using an API component is ridiculous to begin with. We explain this in help topic 76: Sierra Chart Does not Support External Service API Components And when our users wonder why periodically we put Rithmic down it is because of this reason. Look at the trouble you are facing with Rithmic connectivity. We are only being proven right here. And for anyone to put blame or responsibility on us is completely out of bounds. So at this point, we recommend strongly for Rithmic to take the necessary steps on their side to support the connection details we are currently using. There should be no trouble with this. Okay understood. This is what we saw as well but we thought it was just related to an invalid username or password because we were trying to connect to the live server without a live account. We do not really know what we can do because we need to debug this but we cannot. The debug version is simply unstable which also indicates that the release build is going to be unstable which may actually be the cause of the problem. At this point we are at a dead-end in regards to this. We are just going to remove this and put the responsibility on Rithmic. They can so easily solve this. That is point-blank obvious.
