Hello, I would like to see the POC-Level of volume profile from evening session in the following day session. In the study "Volume value area lines" I couldn't set it up, line is always on POC-Price from previous day session. "Use Day Session Only" is set to "No", "New Period AtDay Start" is set to "Yes" and Time Period is 1 Day. (similar study "TPO value area lines" works well for TPOC with evening session). Do you have any tips? Thank you.

We are a bit confused by your statement that the TPO Value Area Lines works fine for getting just the evening session, as both studies are essentially the same and have the same inputs. In which case, neither one should give you what you are looking for, as they are not setup to only look at the Evening Session.

There are a few different ways to do what you want - here is one option: Use a combination of the Volume by Price study and the Extend Bar until Future Intersection study. We have created a Study Collection of these two with what you want to accomplish. Follow the instructions here for how to use this Study Collection: Study Collections: Using a Study Collection Provided by Sierra Chart Support

User 43540 are you looking for the following. See the picture link and note the ONVPOC just above today's VPOC. That is the VPOC from the night session only.

yes, user43540, same here. Works well with the ON TPOC but not with the ON VPOC.

What you are seeing in my picture IS the ON VPOC (overnight VPOC). Are you looking for that. Sorry if I am a bit confused.

John - SC Support: It is a shame that we can not use the evening session at the Volume value area lines study as well as at the TPO Value area lines study. Perhaps it could be added as official function, than we can choose from which session we want to use POC (and TPOC) :-).

Your solution with "Extended Bar Value Until ...." works, but I would like to have only one POC-line from last evening session in the current day session (but neither line from current day session) and I have not found a way to do so. The ways is manually draw horizontal line, but I just wanted to avoid it.
It does not seem to be a major problem for many people, so if a reasonable solution is not found, I will do it manually or I will program it myself. Unfortunately, there is no source code available for the Volume value area lines study for customization.

Thank you

User 750920: Your solution is okay, can you please tell me how you did it?

Hi User 43540. This is how I did it. Obviously you already have the Main chart you want to display the ONVPOC onto,so nothing to do there at this time.

1. Create a new bar chart. See my picture here: http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1539446284262.png Next in the Chart Settings set the session time to the night session. IOn this case the box where it says Use Evening Session is UNCHECKED. There is no time set for Evening Start or End. The time you want to use for evening is set in the first section Start Time and End Time. Next add the Vulume Value Area Line Study and create a line for the VPOC with the color and type of line you want. I also used the custom name ONVPOC. You will see in my chart I also wanted the Overnight High and Low to show up on my main daily trading chart to so I added it here too using the Study High/Low For Time Period.

2. Next go to the Main Daily Chart (like mine I posted earlier) you want these lines and values to be represented. On that chart add the Study called Study/Price Overlay. Here are the instructions for that-> Study/Price Overlay Study: Using the Study/Price Overlay Study In the Setting and Inputs tab the Study to Overlay must reference the chart created with the correct ID for the study on that chart. When you click on the Study to Overlay (Input Name) at the bottom a drop down menu will allow you to choose. (If you rename that chart then to get the correct chart look at that chart's window title bar the name shows there.) Then you can set the Subgraph inputs you want. For the Overhight High and Low I also added I repeated this process after adding another Study/Price Overlay for the ONHI and ONLO I want referenced too.

Hope this helps. Any questions let me know.

What SC Support recommends works well. However if you don't want the lines to extend until future intersection, instead of using the Extend Bar until Future Intersection study, you can use the Horizontal Line at Time study. That way you can determine the exact time you want the lines to extend.
