Slow/freezing response

Today started VERY slow/freezing and long recalculations on Windows/SC 1820 and also Linux/Wine/SC 1815. Usually my charts load VERY fast. Has something changed with the Data feed? Below is my log. Once data is turned on, memory keeps going up and up. Could be....will continue testing and see if I can isolate the issue. I'm testing on both Windows 10 fully updated and Mint Linux/Wine and both are exhibiting the same behavior. Actually, Linux/Wine is performing better at not freezing and recovering. And the Linux box is much older than the newer Windows 10 i7. This all just started today with the same configurations and chart books. Will report back if I am able to provide any insight.

the exact same thing is happening to me. one of the chartbooks is simply impossible to load. takes that long to 'recalcule because of the tagging' that keeps disconnecting from the data feed. but that same CB was working fine past week. seems to happen only with the chartbooks of the american indexes. may be the fact that this week has been so volatile and with so much range and has generated so many 'quotes' ? https://twitter.com/nanexllc/status/1050469553954795520 ... ?

After extensive testing, the issue appears to be a call I make using sc.GetOHLCOfTimePeriod. When I include this function, performance is extremely poor. When I remove it, performance is good. Have there been recent changes to this function? I'm using 64 bit compiling. The 30.3 and 30.9 refer to referencing other charts, which I do. However, including references or not had very little impact on performance.

No there have been no changes to that function but we do know that function is time consuming. It should be called as little as possible and your study should remember the values until it needs to be called again. I ended up using the study high/low for time period extended, saving it from the studies6.cpp, adding study graphs for yesterday's high and low, compiling the study, adding this study to a daily chart and then referenced the new study graphs using study/price overlay. It seems a complex way to get yesterday's high and low into my custom study but the performance is much better than the function sc.GetOHLCOfTimePeriod Date Time Of Last Edit: 2018-10-15 11:37:30

Yes, I saw that comment in the documentation. However, I could not work out reliable code that would properly refresh overnight and multiple days. I keep my computer on 24/7 without exiting SC only on the weekends. I'm sure it could be done but it was beyond my skills with my limited amount of time for coding and testing.
