1. I was doing something very simple that I've done before. I made a range chart, added numberbar calculated values and than spreadsheet study, named a spreadsheet file. The spreadsheet data for numberbar calculated values , i saw it for a sec, than it all disappeared. Next thing i know, my old existing spreadsheet for another chart starting to give me "Exception occured while calling study function". I closed the chartbook after erasing the newest chart with spreadsheet. Reopened the chartbook, existing spreadsheet has no errors. Are you able to recreate this error with your latest version or having known problems with spreadsheet?

2. I'm not retrieving all the bid/ask depth right away. I use rithmic. It slowly begins to populate the data. I still have missing prices where i don't know what size is on bid/ask but i got the size below it or above it. Can you explain?

I'm having a similar issue with my spreadsheet trading study. While I run a replay backtest I start getting a ton of exceptions in the log. Then all my studies were deleted from the spreadsheet. I have to restart with a new chartbook but now it happens everytime I run a backtest. The error is log is "exception occurred while calling study function". I'm in version 1785

1. We do not observe a problem now but there potentially could be a problem in 1786. We will be releasing 1787 later today. We had noticed a problem with spreadsheets which was resolved but fairly sure that did not get released. So not totally sure at this point.

2. Use the historical market depth data as explained here:

We will need to do a remote assistance session with you to look into this to understand the underlying reason of why this is happening. It can be done in the late afternoon or evening. Let us know what day.

1. i'll keep you posted after I try v1787 if problem persists with spreadsheets

2. it's not the bid/ask depth bars, Trading DOM-Chart DOM otherwise known as level 2. I have rithmic. The size of depth is missing for some, takes time to populate. Can you explain?

I've been experiencing loss of overlayed information in SC1783 - SC1786
I don't have this issue with SC1779
Using Study/Price overlay, overlayed columns into destination spreadsheet from BA onwards disappear after running SC for a period of time.

2. It would have to be a Rithmic issue. There are no problems with the market depth data processing.

Using Study/Price overlay, overlayed columns into destination spreadsheet from BA onwards disappear after running SC for a period of time.
We have to understand this in detail. It does not sound as though this would be something specific to spreadsheets but has some other cause.

I'm also having this issue with spreadsheets study for trading, study/price overlay. I'll delete extra columns I don't want to use, then go to fill in a calculation and when I hit 'ok' to enter my formula it will revert to the original spreadsheet with the columns I erased back, and all my calculated values gone. It has also crashed SC when this happens. I'm available Monday night after 6pm Mountain time if you need to remote in to look at it.

I think I'm having a similar issue. I just downloaded version 1785 today and I'm having this message repeat over and over during replay:

Chart: Paused 1.00X: F.US.EPU18 [CV] 0.25 Range #5 | Study: Bid Ask Depth 4 | Exception occurred while calling study function. | 2018-08-25 14:16:38 *

The study it's referencing is a spreadsheet with bid/ask data. Never had this problem with previous versions. Have you fixed it?

We have not yet determined the problem of the issues reported in this thread. This is still marked as a follow-up and we are waiting for more information.

In response to post #12, provide the Chartbook containing chart #5 and also provide the Spreadsheet file and we will test it. If we can reproduce the issue, we will resolve it. Here are instructions:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#AttachFile

The sooner we receive the files, the sooner we can resolve the issue.

We are going to put out a new release later today. We think the problem is related to optimizations in the internal spreadsheet component. We have now reverted that most recent change which occurred about a month ago. So we will want you to test with the latest version coming out later today.

Prerelease version 1794 has been released. We would like you to test with that. This is a prerelease and here are the instructions to update:
Software Download: Fast Update

If you want to just test this as a separate installation you can do that. Follow the instructions here to make a copy of your existing installation:
Transferring Sierra Chart Settings and Data From Existing Installation to New Installation: Simple Transfer/Copy of Sierra Chart Installation to Another Folder or Computer System

After that, just update that installation to the latest prerelease.

Unfortunately this didn't solve anything for me. Still exceptions calling spreadsheet for trading study. Before installing pre release I could close the chartbook and then reopen and get the spreadsheet to function. now when I reopen the chartbook I start getting exceptions immediately.

In response to post #18, we will need to look at this tomorrow with you using remote assistance. We will be calling you tomorrow afternoon if that is okay.

But actually what would probably be easier is for you to attach the Chartbook you are using and the Spreadsheet files you are using following these instructions and we will test them:

seems that when I go to studies->settings for the spreadsheet and change anything in the settings the exceptions happen.

And you noticed this on version 1794? Did you confirm that was the actual version on the title bar at the time? We see you are not using this version now.

And we cannot reproduce the issue using the files provided which does not confirm there is not an issue. It just means that it is difficult for us to determine what the issue is. But we need to really know whether you were genuinely on version 1794 with certainty when the problem still occurred.

I didn't look at the title bar to confirm the version. But I did download and install the pre release. The spreadsheet was having more problems after that so I reinstalled current version. I can reinstall 1794 tomorrow and confirm.

Yes we need to know. If you still have a problem then we would like to do a remote assistance session and have a look at this more closely. And also obtain the main configuration file from your installation of Sierra Chart.

We have definitively corrected the issue which is the cause of the problems described in this thread. Version 1795 has been released. This is now the main release of Sierra Chart.

It was a lower level minor memory corruption issue.
