Cannot connect to CQG FIX

I have not been using SC for several months. Now when when I log in I cannot connect to CQG FIX Trading, but I am able to connect to CQG Web API.

Contact your broker and have them switch you over to Rithmic. You are getting affected by ongoing CQG connectivity problems. Either that or a firewall is blocking the connection.


There is nothing we can do about this from our side. CQG has been repeatedly told about this but they have yet to identify the problem and we are 1000% confident, the issue is not on the Sierra Chart side, unlikely to be on your side, and all indications this points to a problem with CQG.

In regards to the prior post, it is important, that we put maximum pressure on CQG and attention on this.

We have a couple of ideas we can work with to get CQG to resolve this, aassuming it is on their side. But that is what it appears like to us.

We just contacted CQG and requested that they have one of their network engineers work with us on this and this would require your cooperation as well.

There is no way this is going to get solved, unless it involves us, a CQG network engineer, and a user who is having a persistent problem. It will require 3 people. Although it is our opinion, that if they were competent enough, CQG could take care of this all on their own. But we have to force them to recognize they have got a problem. At least that is the way it appears to us.

Hi, so I don't know what CQG did after you contacted them, but I now can connect to CQG FIX Trading, and both historical and intraday charts seem to be functioning properly. So, thanks for your action.
If you need me to work more with you on this, I'd be happy to be part of a solution.

We do not think they did anything. Just must have been a coincidence. Or possibly a firewall on your system was blocking the connection. We really cannot say for sure.

Next time you have a problem we can follow the proposed strategy at that time.
