I just started with Sierra Saturday. I've got everything connected as far as I know. When I connect and display a chart the last bar on the right of the chart is current time. However, the chart doesn't refresh as time moves forward. I'm still on the same bar as when I opened Sierra. Right now about an hour ago.

I got this problem corrected. I had set the data service to my TD Ameritrade Broker in error. I changed the setting to Siera's recommended setting. Problem now is I've got data but it's delayed by 10 minutes. Can't really trade that way.

I thought I had this resolved. Now I have data delayed by 10 minutes when the chart opens and no chart refresh. I opened the chart with delayed time at 7:51A. It's now delayed by an hour. No refresh of the data for an hour now. I should mention I'm using a trial version but supposed to have full funtionality.

Refer to the following for which symbols are Real-Time and which are not and how to get real-time data for the particular symbols that you require:

I'm trying to get real time data for S & P 500 E-Mini futures and 30yr bond futures. I followed the instructions to set up my TD Ameritrade account as a data feed. So far, the chart I see is about 12 delayed. What exactly do I have to do to get real time data and a chart that refreshes and stays current? When I open a chart I get delayed data and no refresh. So far I'm really glad I'm not paying for any of this. Can't get any straight answers about how to solve this problem.

You need to read this page in its entirety:
Is Historical and Real-time Futures Data Included?

Can't get any straight answers about how to solve this problem.
Yes of course. The exchanges want it this way.

OK. I read it. Now, since I need a data service along with your chart package what do you recommend? The reason I got into this with Sierra rather than open a brokerage account is I purchased Delta Scalper software that's supposed to work with your chart platform. I considered your monthly fees were reasonable rather than open a Brokerage account that I wasn't going to trade in anyway. I have a TOS account for that now. Things are a good deal ambiguous here because it was unclear I'd need a data service too. So I've been screwing around since Saturday when I bought Delta Scalper trying to get it to work with Sierra Charts. It would be a lot less of a pain in the ass if you and Delta Scalper would be a bit more forthcoming in what it takes to actually get things working. As it stands now, I've spent $299 for Delta Scalper to work with your charts when I probably should have opened a Ninja Trader account

You need to use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed to get the real-time futures data. Follow the set up instructions on this page:
Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed

Since you have a TD Ameritrade account you can take advantage of the lower price CME exchange fees.

OK. thanks. I notice you have 2 packages for you charting service. One costs $24 the other $33. Will the CME data feed work with either one?

So now I'm trying to activate the data feed. I deposited $25 by way of PayPal to Sierra. I have a TD Ameritrade account and added the Log In information for that. When I click the activate button I get an error message "Failed to Activate". I'm trying to activate The service package that is priced $15.75 USD / month. I also tried to activate the trial version for $5.00 per month and that also failed to activate. I'm trying to get the package that provides 20 Futures quotes per month from Full CME Group. A question I have is does CME provide 24hr quotes or do I also have to activate GLOBEX?
If I hadn't already purchased a Delta Scalper package for $299 I wouldn't be trying to do this with Sierra Chart. With all the difficulties I'm having it certainly looks like I made a poor choice buying the Delta Scalper and trying to get it to work here. Delta Scalper does have a package that works with Ninja Trader. Problem there is the two packages are not compatible.
It was like pulling hens teeth to find out from either you or Delta Scalper that I also needed a data feed to get Delta Scalper to work on Sierra. It should have been obvious to both of you what my problem was when I contacted either of you.

This was the actual error message you encountered:

Market Data Account: Failed to activate the 'Full CME Group (CME, CBOT, COMEX, NYMEX) with Market Depth for nonprofessional Trading accounts' exchange. To enable the exchange at least one Real-time Data Connection must be currently active and enabled for Auto Renewal.

The problem is you did not follow the step to activate the real-time data connection. We activated the real-time data connection and now you need to complete the agreement. Complete the first Market Data Agreement here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=ExchangeDataFeedFeatures&UserID=145453#Agreements (Market Data Agreement )

When that is done let us know. And we do not understand the continued reference to Ninja trader because you can always open a brokerage account with brokers that we work with and also use the provided data feed with that account. There are two major brokers we work with. But the path you are following is going to be more straightforward and give you a superior data feed.

It should have been obvious to both of you what my problem was when I contacted either of you.
No, not at all. But once we understood you wanted real-time futures data, the exchanges are determined to make this process very very difficult.

I completed the Agreement. I selected the first of three choices. If I need to complete more than that let me know. The only reason I mentioned Ninja Trader is the Delta Scalper had two choices for functionality with a chart platform. You and Ninja Trader. I decided you were the better choice. However, Ninja Trader probably has a more timely support system. I've been trying to get this to work since Saturday. I didn't find out I needed a Data Service until yesterday. I spent a few hours reading through your setup instructions and didn't find any mention of a Data Service requirement. Nor did Delta Scalper's rep inform me I needed to have that when I bought the software. Then, if I encounter a problem I have to read through a few more pages and probably have to contact you here and wait for a response. I would suggest a more condensed version of instructions that highlights what is required and needs to be done to complete the set up process.
The problem in this business is there's a lot of starving vultures clamoring for my money. It's only after I give my money to them that I find out what I've got. Then, if there's a problem none of them want to be very forthcoming about it for their own reasons. If Delta Scalper had informed me that I needed a Data Service along with your chart platform a lot of this aggravation for both of us could have been avoided.

The data feed is now active on your account.

You should begin to receive real-time data within a few minutes. Open a chart for ESM18.
