I just signed up for the HFKE exchange to get Hang Seng market data. I noticed that I am not getting real time data or any data for that matter even when the market is open. I have an account with GAIN so I get their real time data feed, but I also subscribed to the SC REAL TIME DATA. I was told a about a month ago by sierra chart that so long as I have a [M] bracket capital M in the top heading bar of my charts that I am receiving real time data from SC realtime data. However, I am not getting the HSJ18 data. I went into my data settings under file and realized that eventhough I have the [M] I am still getting data from GAIN. When i switched this to SCdata I immediately started getting real time quotes for the HSJ18 properly and accurately, but then I lost all data for the other symbols. I am assuming this is because the symbols are different fro GAIN/OEC trader and SC REAL TIME DATA.

My question is: WHAT SHOULD I HAVE MY DATA settings set on in order to get real time data that I pay for for the SC real time data AND to enable me to traade with SC chart with my GAIN ACCOUNT? apparently I have been trading off of the GAIN OEC data feed and charting off of the gain oec data feed eventhough i had a [M] in the heading of my charts. I was told by you guys so long as I have the [M] that I am getting SC realtime data. this may be true in part, but not in full since I have the [M] but I am actually getting data from Gain? please advise as soon as possible.

This cannot be true. [M] does indicate that the chart is being updated by the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed. To be sure all of the data in the chart is from this data feed, Re-download all the data in the chart by going to the chart and selecting "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download".

We added the HS symbol to the Gain Capital symbol lists. Follow the instructions here to update the Symbol Settings:
Global Symbol Settings: Update Global Symbol Settings

After following those instructions you will then begin to receive the real-time data for it.

I am not doing something correct on my end. I am subscribed to the sierra chart real time data feed. Is this also called the "Bar Chart" data feed or I am I also mixed up with this other data service? I am trying to use the barchart real time data not Gain.

You are not doing anything incorrect.

Barchart is the vendor of record for the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed.

While Sierra Chart is connected to Gain Capital, post an image of a chart using a CME symbol, following these instructions here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#Image

We will confirm for you if that chart is receiving the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed.

While connected to Gain Capital open a chart for HSJ18. That chart should update in real time for you now. If not let us know.

I am wondering if I am getting data from gain and bar chart at the same time?
what is the current =front month symbol for emini, gold, and lumber with BAR CHART?
I will put these in and see if they work. From my screenshots I am guessing you noticed the screenshots I am using which you must have confirmed to be Bar chart

No, the data cannot be coming from both for a particular symbol at the same time.

The Barchart symbols do not matter. When connected to Gain Capital, you can only use the symbols listed in File >> Find Symbol which will be the Gain Capital symbols. This is explained here:

I am still mixed up. when i go to my setting page on sierra chart.. i see gain/oec as my data and trading.... basically are you saying that my symbols for gain are the same symbols for BARCHART? i am trying to figure out why you guys use 2 different names for the same thing? bar chart is the sierra chart real time feed correct? so why not call it BARCHARTsierra if that is where it comes from? I guess it could change from barchart to another company so maybe that is why you use sierra chart real time feed..

I am still mixed up about the symbols.. are the symbols the same for sierra rreal time feed and gain/oec?

You say that the symbols do not matter when conencted to gain? but at the same time you are telling me I cannot be connected to gain and barhcart at the same time?
I hope you can understand my frustration.
thanks

We need to approach this directly and properly.

Your questions are only confusing the situation, and are unnecessary at this point.

Read through this section here:

Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed: Integration with Trading Services ( titled Integration with Trading Services). Read it carefully.

What is relevant, is what particular issue you may be having at this time, if any. This is all that is relevant.

As long as you see [M] after the symbol at the top of the chart, then that chart is receiving data from the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed. To ensure all the data came from that data feed, Re-download all the data in the chart by going to the chart and selecting "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download". This only needs to be done once per symbol.

We have verified that when using Gain Capital, you have access to all of the market data you have activated exchanges for on the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed and we also added Hang Seng Index (HSI) - HKFE.

So if you are having a problem tell us just what the problem is. Otherwise, you are all set and there are no issues.

Refer to the prior post.

Another thing we want you to do is perform a full reset of the Symbol Settings to ensure you have the complete Symbol Settings:
