Intel is still not updating on its own. If I disconnect, reconnect, it will update and then just sit there. Come on already.

Tell us the exact symbol you are using. We need to ask because there are various formats that can be used with Interactive Brokers.

And please avoid complaining because it is Interactive Brokers which creates so many complications in this regard. We are only doing our best.

Exactly what you told me to use. INTC-STK-SMART/NASDAQ

I can place an order with the symbol set as INTC-STK-SMART/NASDAQ in the chart, but the quotation stops. It will restart if I go to symbol settings, update from server, disconnect, reconnect. But I really don't want to have to remember to do that every day.

We tested the symbol and it does work properly for us in regards to historical data and real-time data symbol mapping:

Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log:

The first thing we want you to do is to update the Symbol Settings:

Update Sierra Chart to the current version:

If you still have a problem perform a Full Reset of the symbol settings:

The only other remaining possibility would be some kind of symbol conflict. Make sure all use of the Intel symbol among the charts and quote boards is a consistent format (INTC-STK-SMART/NASDAQ).

Actually this is really most likely the problem and this is why, your frustration must be squarely placed with the lunacy of Interactive Brokers symbol formats. It is not us creating all of this confusion and trouble. You need to accept these kinds of problems when using Interactive Brokers.

After you make sure you consistently use this symbol in quote boards and the charts:
INTC-STK-SMART/NASDAQ

Reconnect to the data feed following these instructions here:
File Menu: Procedure to Reconnect to the Data and Trade Servers

We think we might be able to implement a solution to this type of issue but we just need some time to determine the solution. We probably could have it out in about a week.

So even if you are using different Intel symbol formats, they will all update.

We did respond to the thread about that.

You need to update Sierra Chart. We added symbol settings for MSFT-STK-SMART/NASDAQ which we can now see is causing a problem for users who are not running the latest version and also using the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed.
