Hello Sierra Team

I have two PCs running sierra charts. One acts as a DTC server and the other PC connects to it as a DTC Sub Instance.

They have been running well until I updated to current version 1697.

The problem is that on the client PC, after connecting to the server and opening an existing Chartbook, the historical data download fails giving me a message in red on the charts: Download Failed

I have not made any changes to the Data/Trade service settings since they were working well.

I have attached a copy on the server settings

Thank you for looking into this

Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log:
Message Log: Clearing the Message Log

In the DTC client instance, go to one of the charts you received a download failed message on and select
Edit >> Download Data from End of Chart

After about a minute provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions:

Hi,

I did what you asked and I copy below the Log file. What is happening is this

HD Request # 4 | Error downloading historical Intraday data for F.US.EPH18. Historical data logon error: Logon rejected due to authorization failure. | 2018-02-13 05:32:28

I have not changed anything in my server and client Data/Trade service settings and this error message started showing up.

i have also attached the SierraCharts Client Data/Trade Service settings. In the image I deleted the username but I usually have the sierra username in there.

Thank you

In the client instance, are you using a Sierra Chart username which is different than the main server instance? If so, that is the source of the problem and to solve that just simply uncheck Require Authentication in the DTC Protocol Server settings in the server instance.
