Why the identical chart window has various outlook/styles if attached vs. detached? In figure 1 is the chart window, which is attached to chartbook - his borders are fat/thick. In figure 2 is the identical window after pressing "Detach/Attach Window" button. His borders are thin, according to Win10 system setting. Why the attached window (figure 1) does not accept the Win10 system setting? Thanks

We do not know the answer to this. Contact Microsoft about this.

We would think there would be settings to control this in the Windows Control Panel.

Do you think that Win10 differentiates various types of windows and allows simultaneously various settings for them? I do not think so. More simple judgement is, that this is a problem in SC (specifically with Win10) and for attached window there is displayed maybe some default window style. Can your developers verify this? I had my chart windows optimized to maximally save the space on display and now is this corrupted. Thank you for understanding.

This is not a problem with Sierra Chart.

Thank you, this helped. The borders are thiner. It is not like the standard Win10 window, but it is better. The title bar and controls remain "prehistorical", but this is not so important. Maybe it is not a problem with SC. I apologize to support board.

Have a look at my post #4 in this thread. Fiddling with these settings in Wdoz10 may help with Title Bar and Controls:

Control bar 'heading' too tall/fat

Yes, I tried it, but these settings affect all windows, not only attached windows. Maybe I will use some suitable combination. Thanks

Is there now any officially recommended workaround for this issue, i.e. to make attached windows have the usual Windows 10 style rather than thick borders?

I have the same issue with Windows 8.1 : Tittle Bar - issues in Windows 8.1

Hi everyone,

I used this third party utility (free) to do it:

Downloads / Software / Winaero Tweaker
https://winaero.com/download.php?view.1796=

Install it then choose Window Borders & Window Title Bars under Advanced Appearance settings and make your adjustment. Maybe you would need to change windows theme to Aero Lite in Appearance section first.

See what I get in attachements below.

You are welcome :)
