I have tried a few versions and a variety of settings including 1 in the port and the actual address and port. No matter what I do after 962 (when the use proxy checkbox was added) I can not login to Sierra. I can load the program up eventually and connect to trade services but anything that deals with sierra such as sending an email or downloading a new version fails.

I rolled back to 962 for now.

It sounds as though a firewall is blocking the connection. Maybe also Internet Explorer to set to work off-line. Please refer to this section here:

Also when it comes to the Proxy Port, you need to enter the actual port number used by the proxy server. 1 will no longer work unless that happens to be the exact port number used.

I've taken some steps to look further into this. I believe the issue is when I specify the port of the proxy server "3128" it appends a :3128 to the end of the login address (and probably all other SC addresses) instead of only using this port as the proxy port. This obviously doesn't work because sierrachart.com doesn't run on port 3128. No other websites in my capture append the :3128 at the end it just happens when trying to login via SC on version >962.

This is not something we have control over. This is done at a lower level in Windows.

And also, that 503 Service Unavailable message appears to be coming from the proxy server. It is hard to tell because you are not showing the IP addresses.

Yes it is coming from the proxy (blue is the proxy). The proxy is returning a 503 because there is no service hosted on port 3128 at sierrachart.com. If I put port 80 in the box it will attempt to go to the correct url but sends the url to the wrong port on the proxy.

We apologize for the delay with this. We have been looking into it and we have discovered the problem. We are going to be releasing a new version within an hour.

I can confirm this fix works in pre-release version 978. Thanks for taking the time to look into this.
