Hi,
i'm approaching future trading seriously for the first time. I've dabbed a bit with the delayed demo sierra chart account last year and I would like to papertrade live without starting a payement plan as of yet (testing out platforms)
Is it possible to do so?

Specifically, I've just setup a demo account with Iron beam, can I connect this to a demo account on sierra?

Thanks

To start with, we see that this account has not been used for nearly a year, so we have reset the trial for this account.

While on a Trial, you have the full capabilities of the system, except for the following:
- No connectivity to data and trading services including our own Denali Exchange Data Feed
- Limited data as specified at the following link:
Sierra Chart Trial Account

Therefore, you can not connect to an Ironbeam account (of any kind) while on a Trial.

But, you can use our "Simulated Futures Trading Service" while on a trial. You will access the "delayed" version, since you will be working with the delayed streaming data. Refer to the information here:
Simulated Futures Trading Service
For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:

Okay thank you, I will try that. Does the simulation mode detailed in your link already account for some slippage & unperfect fill (using the service side) ?

Google Gemini is trying to make me locate the "SIMULATION" tab to adjust some tick but it's just not there altough simulation is checked on in the menu (I got SIM in title bar). I'm using SC-Data in the data setting.

Thanks

It uses the position in queue to come up with an estimate of where the fill will occur.

We do not understand the question here.

To use the Simulated Futures Trading Service, you set the "Current Selected Service" to "Trading Evaluator - Delayed". Refer to the instructions here:
Simulated Futures Trading Service: Setup Instructions

When connected to the "Trading Evaluator" you can not put the system in Simulation Mode (i.e. the built-in simulation).

As following the suggestion of google gemini, I'm trying to recreate the most realastic environnement possible (with unperfected fills).
it was suggesting there was some tick settings to adjust in order to simulate some slippage.

Is this already taking care of using the trading evaluator?

Thanks

We have no idea what Gemini is trying to tell you to do.

But as we stated previously, the Trading Evaluator does take into account your order in relation to other orders on the book and tries to match up as best it can. It will never be a perfect representation of the actual market.

Hello John,
I've been testing the platform with Mes and liking it so far. I would like to test with MNQ or NQ. Is it my understanding that this is not possible with the free demo account? What would be my paying options for further testing in demo?

Also, i'm sorry it is still unclear wether I should use the trading evalutor or simulated trading (It seems it's a way to give your account to someone that's gonna review it for feedbacks (whitch I don't use). Just want to have realistic fills.

Thanks and have a good day!

In order to have other symbols available, you would need to change to a paid package. If you are not wanting/needing real-time data, then we recommend starting on one of our "Base" packages. These give you most of the functionality of the sytem (the only item you do not have access to is the Market by Order (MBO) data), and they are $10.00 cheaper than the Integrated packages. Refer to the information for the packages at the following link:
Description of Service Packages and Pricing: Packages

To change to a paid package, follow these instructions:
Sierra Chart Purchase and License Information: Instructions

You can change your package at any time, so starting with one package and then being able to change to another later is not an issue. Refer to the following:
Sierra Chart Purchase and License Information: Changing Package

The "Trading Evaluator" does have options for sharing an account with others, but this does not need to be used. It is the more realistic environment for demo trading, so we definitely recommend using it. Keep in mind that you would need to connect to the "Trading Evaluator - Delayed" as long as you are using the Delayed data.
