I am struggling with setting up Sierra Charts properly. I have 5 Screens (1x34" Widescreen, 3x27", 1x13").
- On my 34" screen I want to have 4 Tickers, Each Ticker has 5 charts - 5min, 30min, daily/weekly/monthly TPO+VbP
- 27 Inch Middle has 1min Charts, DOM and Footprint
- The other two 27 Inch should also have DOM and Footprint
- On the 13" I would like to monitor if there are open positions, orders, p&L etc.
The 34" screen has the large tickers, while I am trading the respective Micros on the 27" screens. I want that the drawing levels from e.g. NQ are also displayed in MNQ.
However, I don't know how to align the charts nicely on the other screens. I don't want to pop out everything from the 34" Chartbook and move/align it every time I start Sierra. Also expanding the 34" Chartbook over all monitors seems also not feasible. Running a new instance on each monitor seems to be also a bit weird and probably does not allow synchronization of drawings. Is it possible to pop-out Chartbooks and move them to other screens?

Some other issues:
- Is it possible to color the window border in respect to the window link color
- Simple Volume Indicator: How to get the same width of the volume bars as the candle stick (in particular zooming out leads to overlapping)
- Simple Volume Indicator: How to keep it fixed to the zero line, while zooming y-scale?
- Simple Volume Indicator: Haven't found a good setting to have Volume Indicator together with the candle bars on the same chart region ( e.g. with just taking like 10% percent space and having an option to zoom)
- Simple Volume Indicator: Would like to see the current volume shown on the scale (also with a label)
- Is it possible to adjust width of columns, rows to align window grids individually?

Global Settings - Chart Shortcut Menu - Take Your Time - View Screenshot for all the things you need to add

So the main setting you are looking for is detach chart window under the window setting. It's ideal that this is placed in the right click menu since it's used so often.

Sierra Chart will remember window placement, however if you unplug hdmi /DP cords from monitor or pc - The detached windows will pile on the corner of a monitor.

You will have to install a Windows program called Power Toys, and specifically use something called Fancy Zones. Fancy Zones allows you to create a truly custom invisible grid that appears when holding shift and a window title bar. You will be able to create a grid for each of your monitors. If you unplug HDMI or display port or add a new monitor, you will have to reinstall FZ if it does not recognize. The only setting in FZ that I have checked on is Hold Shift key to activate zones while dragging a window. And within each custom grid setting, I turn the space around grid lines off to have thinner lines for a grid.

So if anything happens, all you need to do is just hold shift and drag windows to their spot and you don't have perfectly align anything - it does it for you.

You then will want to turn title bar, and menu off by clicking the show option. I also turn the scroll bar off. Whatever functions that you may need, you will want to add them to the right click short cut menu. You can bring back title bar and menu using the options in right click menu.

Within the chart settings you can link charts to copy drawings, and to synchronize scroll.

With 20 charts TPO+VbP, 4x 1m, 4x doms, 4x footprints =

You're going to need to go through the optimization performance aptitude 'test'. This is Sierra Chart's final trial by fire.

Via using OpenGL or not, Using OS timers or not. Appropriately limiting data to load, update intervals, tick data downloads, aggregating price/tick size. You might see a very common issue, of your chartbooks intermittently freezing with any mouse movement.

And then there is the rithmic issue. You want to build all this out on Denali and Teton, and use a barebones instance for rithmic data to just execute. You're not going to get the full experience of seeing the same trade across all your charts using different datefeeds. And yes you can use two different datafeeds at the same time. You will want to create a second installation, downloading sierra again. This is not a new instance.

You will also need to create a second instance to cross reference update interval speeds. 50ms dom on new instance, vs 50ms dom on your built out chartbook.

This is also important - managing orders across instances. Order Adjustments via Chart Across Multiple Instances

Best of luck in your trial by fire.

Thanks a lot, I will go through your answer. If I would have known that Sierra Charts requires so many workarounds, I probably would have stayed with my previous software. But I will give it a chance.
Also doing performance optimization while Sierra is claimed to be performance optimized is a bit funny. These settings were no issue with another platform before, where the 1min charts have 5ms update rate.
I pray that my 9800x3d will save me here.
Working with Denali+Teton. The last time I used fancy zones, I had to re-install my whole PC because it messed something up how my PC managed timings.

I know the detach chart function. I was just hoping that something like that would be available for workspaces. This software should come with a Sierra Charts developer to set it up
Maybe you get a pot of gold once the software is setup to your needs.

This is a picture of my custom fancy zones grid on my monitors/tvs. Haven't had any problems with it messing up my computer.

Each screen is a different unrelated market. index, oil, bonds. I can have these on seperate instances.

The whole point of building out 1 chartbook with many multi timeframe windows, with similar tickers is to utilize global cursor crosshair and to make reading levels and prices so intuitively easy. And that usecase dissappears with advice to seperate all your symbols into different chartbooks on different instances, or to seperate your lower timeframe, and higher timeframe charts to different chartbooks.

That's where this optimization comes in, to try to keep it functional all in one chartbook.

Looks like there is a lot of stuff going on as well!
Maybe you can help me with another issue. I want to SIM/Demo trade simultaneously to my Real Account, because I want to try Intra-Day Swing strategy while scalping with my main account.
Switching from Real to full Sim-Mode seems not feasible. Is it possible to generate an artificial SIM/Demo Account I can switch furth and back to (e.g. in the DOM or at ChartTrader)?

P.S. I was using DASTraderPro before for Equities and it was quite easy there (and it is an old software as well)

To be able to do both Simulated trading and live trading at the same time, you would need to use a second instance of Sierra Chart (which you may also want to consider for your general setup). The best way to do this is to use a Sub-Instance. You create a sub-instance by selecting "File >> New Instance". Refer to the following:
File Menu: New Instance (File)

If you do this, you will need to run the Simulation environment in the sub-instance, as these sub-instances get/send information through the main instance.

You can also have another installation of Sierra Chart to do this. Refer to the following:
Using Multiple Data and Trading Services at the Same Time: Step-By-Step Instructions to Install Multiple Copies of Sierra Chart
For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:
