Global Settings - Chart Shortcut Menu - Take Your Time - View Screenshot for all the things you need to add So the main setting you are looking for is detach chart window under the window setting. It's ideal that this is placed in the right click menu since it's used so often. Sierra Chart will remember window placement, however if you unplug hdmi /DP cords from monitor or pc - The detached windows will pile on the corner of a monitor. You will have to install a Windows program called Power Toys, and specifically use something called Fancy Zones. Fancy Zones allows you to create a truly custom invisible grid that appears when holding shift and a window title bar. You will be able to create a grid for each of your monitors. If you unplug HDMI or display port or add a new monitor, you will have to reinstall FZ if it does not recognize. The only setting in FZ that I have checked on is Hold Shift key to activate zones while dragging a window. And within each custom grid setting, I turn the space around grid lines off to have thinner lines for a grid. So if anything happens, all you need to do is just hold shift and drag windows to their spot and you don't have perfectly align anything - it does it for you. You then will want to turn title bar, and menu off by clicking the show option. I also turn the scroll bar off. Whatever functions that you may need, you will want to add them to the right click short cut menu. You can bring back title bar and menu using the options in right click menu. Within the chart settings you can link charts to copy drawings, and to synchronize scroll. With 20 charts TPO+VbP, 4x 1m, 4x doms, 4x footprints = You're going to need to go through the optimization performance aptitude 'test'. This is Sierra Chart's final trial by fire. Via using OpenGL or not, Using OS timers or not. Appropriately limiting data to load, update intervals, tick data downloads, aggregating price/tick size. You might see a very common issue, of your chartbooks intermittently freezing with any mouse movement. And then there is the rithmic issue. You want to build all this out on Denali and Teton, and use a barebones instance for rithmic data to just execute. You're not going to get the full experience of seeing the same trade across all your charts using different datefeeds. And yes you can use two different datafeeds at the same time. You will want to create a second installation, downloading sierra again. This is not a new instance. You will also need to create a second instance to cross reference update interval speeds. 50ms dom on new instance, vs 50ms dom on your built out chartbook. This is also important - managing orders across instances. Order Adjustments via Chart Across Multiple Instances Best of luck in your trial by fire. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2026-01-05 10:53:01
