Sierra is stuck loading data.

Regardless of the chart, Sierra is publishing, 'Downloading Continuous Contract Data'.

This started when a chart was reconfigured from 'Use Number of Days to Load' to use 'Use Date Range'.

Switching back to 'Use Number of Days to Load' does not fix the issue.

I have confirmed the symbol syntax.

How can this be fixed?

If you are seeing the message "Downloading Continuous Contract Data" and the system is not "locked up", that is you are able to select different charts and menu options, then you simply need to wait for the data to fully download. Depending on how much data you are requesting, this could take awhile. Depending on your Internet connectivity and the amount of data requested, it could be anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours.

In the end, you need to wait for the process to finish downloading the data.

If the system is actually not responsive at all, then this means that the program has locked up for some reason. In this case, you would need to stop the program through the Operating System, and then start again. If you continue to have the same issue, then you would need to not open that chartbook and start a new chartbook and start by loading a smaller amount of data to start with and then build up to what you are wanting, in order to make sure that it is not a data issue of some kind.

If you have a chart already setup to be a Continuous Futures Contract and you select "Delete All Data and Download", then the amount of data downloaded will be determined by the setting for "Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Maximum Historical Intraday Days to Download ("Non Tick Data" or "1 Tick Data")"

By default, this is set to 186, so it would need to download at least a few contracts worth of data. If you have this set to a higher value, then it will take longer to download the data.

Refer to the following:
Data/Trade Service Settings: Maximum Historical Intraday Days to Download (Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings)
