Hello, I’m unable to modify the number of days loaded in the intraday chart. In Chart Settings → Data Limiting, the configuration is as follows: 'Date Range in File From: 2025-06-09', and 'Load Data Limiting Method' is set to 'Use Number of Days to Load'. If I change the value in 'Days to Load for Intraday Chart Data Type' (for example, to 1000), the chart still starts from the initial date of 2025-06-09 and does not load additional intraday data. If I try to manually change the 'Date Range in File From' by entering an earlier date, after clicking 'Apply All', the field reverts to the previous value and does not save the changes. I need to download a large number of days in order to perform backtesting using data from the historical Daily CSV file; How can I force Sierra Chart to download intraday data starting from a fixed date (e.g., 2020-07-20), so that it matches the dates already present in the daily file? Could you please clarify the procedure I need to follow? Thank you! Massimo |

It sounds like you are trying to get more data for a futures contract. In this case, you need to use a "Continuous Futures Contract". Refer to the following: Continuous Futures Contract Charts For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

If I try to manually change the 'Date Range in File From' by entering an earlier date, after clicking 'Apply All', the field reverts to the previous value and does not save the changes.
This should not be occurring for stocks. When you change the "Date Range in File From" to an earlier date and you select OK, you should get a prompt asking if you want to download more data based on what you entered. You would answer "Yes" to this and then the data will download. You can then go back and change the "Days to Load" for what you want, knowing that the data has been downloaded back to whatever you entered. Refer to the following for more on this: Historical Intraday Data (Missing Data / Download Errors / Viewing More Data): Using 'Date Range in File >> From' to Download More Historical Data If this is not working, then we would need to see your Message Log by following these instructions: Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log:
Message Log: Clearing the Message Log Select "Chart >> Chart Settings". On the Data Limiting tab, change the value for the "Date Range in File From", and select OK to close that window. You should get a popup asking if you want to download more data - answer "Yes". After the data downloads and reloads in the chart, then get us the Message Log by following these instructions: Support Board Posting Information: How to Post Your Message Log (Required In Some Cases) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
