What might have happened is the open was higher than the price for a brief second which might have caused issues with the stop order. I recommend placing stop order when market opens instead, else go with the "error check" approach I mentioned. Logic: If symbol price < 111.025 then buy stop order. Get the order ID of this buy stop order (refer to Sierra Chart documentation). If symbol price > 111.025 and buy stop order ID is not filled, then cancel order and execute market order instead. |

If the Status of the order is "Held" it would be client-side. You can check the status in the Trade Orders Window: Trading Information Windows: Trade Orders Window Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Whatever occurred is going to be related to Rithmic. You are going to have to check with your broker or the exchange to determine what occurred. Here are the things to check: - See if the Stop Order actually did its job and closed you out of your position, but that Sierra Chart is not displaying the proper information since it is not being updated by Rithmic. - Verify that your Stop order was properly accepted and was active on the exchange when you had your open position. Could there be a possibility that Sierra Chart didn't route it even though it was posted because the price just went right through my stop completely with nothing nothing even happened it just completely went right through my stop nothing got filled and then I had to flatten the position Could you look into this I already rithmic

It is not possible that Sierra Chart did not properly send the order. This has never happened, and we know that this part of our software works properly. Rithmic, however, is known to not properly handle orders. Sometimes orders are not able to be sent through because they are not responding properly, or they close out an order and do not send the information back properly. Refer to the following for our opinion of Rithmic: Rithmic Trading Platform Service: Rithmic Support Policy Whatever occurred is definitely going to be due to Rithmic. You need to also keep in mind that the interface between Sierra Chart and Rithmic is developed and owned by Rithmic. So there is nothing we can do to improve upon how it works - that is completely up to Rithmic to fix. As we stated, you need to check with your broker on what happened. See if the Stop order was actually transmitted and if there was some problem that caused it to be rejected. Or, if the Stop was accepted, then why did it not do its job? One other thing you can do, if you have not restarted Sierra Chart, is look in your "Trade >> Trade Service Log" and see if there is any information in there related to this at the time you had the issue. There may be nothing, but you may see items like a lack of response from Rithmic. You can post your log to this thread if you want us to look at it. Just let us know the time at which you first entered the order and when the order was supposed to be closed out. Follow these instructions to get us the log: Support Board Posting Information: Providing Lines From Trade Service Log For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
