Hello, I draw many objects on my charts as I make them up for homework, live trading, etc. I also have several different timeframes open at the same time, such as Daily, 4Hr, 1Hr, 15m, 5m, 50Tick. One of my favorite features in Sierra is how seamlessly and quickly you can modify drawings in various windows, and the changes are reflected across all of the other charts. However, I would like to limit certain objects to only display on higher time frames and other objects to only display on lower timeframes. For example, it would be wonderful to be able to write some text objects on the Tick 30, click on those text objects, and set their visibility to something like "Only display on timeframes less than 5 mins." Is there a potential way to do this in SierraChart? Thank you for any support or ideas, Mike |

There is not a way to do this in Sierra Chart. We have marked this as a Feature Request. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Would it be possible at least to add functionality to certain objects for "Do Not Copy This Object"? Perhaps that would be an easier remedy for the time-being? Thank you for your program and continued support! Mike T |

I am testing the Visibility Settings by time frame, but I cannot get it to display in seconds, minutes, and hours, but not in daily or higher. As shown in the image, the orange zone is displayed in 1 min, 5 min, 60 min (1 hour) and not in 1 day, but it is also not displayed in 15 seconds. This is what I have tried: Bar Period Value # Begin: 0-1-0
Bar Period Value # End: 0-60-0 How should I set the configuration so that it displays in periods shorter than daily? And if I want to draw in minutes, but not display in hourly or daily? I want to set different configurations. If I draw in daily, it replicates to lower TFs, as well as hourly or minutes, but if I draw in 1 minute or 15 seconds, it does not replicate to higher timeframes. Could you show some configuration examples? EDIT Just as I finished asking, it occurred to me XD It shows in Hourly (H1) and lower timeframes, but not in Daily. Bar Period Value # Begin: 0-0-0
Bar Period Value # End: 0-60-0 Date Time Of Last Edit: 2025-09-10 10:07:23

We are not understanding what you are stating as the issue. You have the times setup such that the drawing will show on any bar period less than 60 minutes (1 hour). Therefore the drawing should not be showing on a Daily bar period. We do not know what you are referring to in this statement: If I draw in daily, it replicates to lower TFs, as well as hourly or minutes, but if I draw in 1 minute or 15 seconds, it does not replicate to higher timeframes.
Can you give us more information on what you are trying to do that is not working? The visibility settings do apply to a drawing that is copied using the "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Chart Drawings >> Copy Chart Drawings from Chart #'s" such that the drawing will only be visible in the destination chart when the Bar Period of that chart is within the visibility settings. The charts are also independent in this regard, such that if the drawing is not displaying in the source chart due to the Bar Period, this does not affect the visibility in the Destination chart. I mean that first I mark zones on a daily basis, then I go down to an hourly time frame, mark zones, and then in 5 minutes I don't want the zones marked in 5 minutes or less to be visible in hourly or daily time frames. So I have some settings for daily zones, others for hourly zones, and I would like to leave the rest for minute or second time frame drawings, without the latter being visible in H1 or daily. But I think I've figured out how it works and set up the different configurations for the different time frames. Thank you very much for all your work. Sierra Chart is undoubtedly a great platform. |
