Hi folks, i updated my SC and this tool is no longer showing up on other charts.. if i use it to pinpoint a price on a larger range chart, it used to show on my smaller range chart. Now when i use it, it only shows on the one chart. I hope i am making sense. Thank you

Make sure you have the option for "Tools >> Global Cursor On" enabled, or possibly "Tools >> Symbol Cursor On" depending on whether you want all charts or just charts with the same symbol to show the crosshairs. global and symbol is set to on but i still dont see it on other charts - same symbol. Any other suggestions? Thank you

So each chart has the "Chart Values/Crosshairs" as the active tool? And you have "Tool >> Global Cursor On" enabled (has a checkmark next to it)? And you are still having a problem with the cursor not being displayed in any chart other than the active chart? Are these charts for the same symbol and are they displaying the same range of data? Keep in mind that if "Tools >> Synchronize Charts" is not enabled, then the charts will not automatically move to the same location, so you may not be seeing crosshairs due to the position in the chart. Another possibility is that the charts are from different chartbooks, but one is displayed with the other due to having the option "Window >> Window Always Visible" set. These charts from different chartbooks will not work together with the "Global Cursor". Hi John, yes on the active tool. yes on the global curser on, and still having an issue with the crosshair not showing on more than 1 chart. so when i activate it on the 60 range, i use to see it on my 30 range.. but its not showing at all. synchronize charts in not enabled. Charts are in the same chartbook. Nothing has changed on my end.. it only happened when i updated SC. I am clueless. Not a deal breaker.. it would just be nice to have it back.. Thank you for your help |

There is no reason that we can see for this to not be working. If you make the 30 range chart the active chart (select the chart), do you see the crosshairs displayed in there? If they are displayed, are they then also displayed in your 60 range chart? it is there on the 30 range. but its now showing on the 60 range. Its ok John, i know you have a lot of other traders out there with issues. This isnt the end of the world for me :) Thanks so much

Just so we understand. When you specifically go to the 30 range chart, you see the crosshairs in the 60 range chart and they move around in both charts. But if you go to the 60 range chart, the crosshairs do not show in the 30 range chart at all? If you open a new chart and set that chart to have the active tool as the "Chart Values/Crosshairs" does it work properly with the 60 range chart? Does it make any difference if you set that new chart to be a 30 range chart? Hey John sorry for the confusion... no it only shows on 1 chart. It doesn't matter what range it is. I tried with another commodity as well, and also a time based chart just to confirm.. and all scenarios it will only show on 1 chart.

Hi John, I just updated to 2957, i double checked that it was indeed that version after updating... I am still having the crosshair tool issue. Not sure there is anything else you can suggest. But i do appreciate so much your time and effort.. Thank you |

We want to make sure there is not some general issue occurring. And on the other hand, we want to know why you would have this issue if nobody else is having it. Please do the following for us when you have some time and not actively trading: - With Sierra Chart open, select "File >> Close All Chartbooks". It is up to you to save or not. - Select "File >> Find Symbol" - Select or enter a symbol to open a chart. - Select the button for "Open Intraday Chart" two times. This will open 2 separate intraday charts for the same symbol. - Select the "Close" button to close the "Find Symbol" window. - Select "Window >> Tile Vertically" to have the two charts show up in the main Sierra Chart window next to each other vertically (one on the left and one on the right). - Select the "Tools" menu and verify that "Global Cursor On" has a checkmark next to it and "Synchronize Charts" does not. - Click on the chart on the left to make it active, then select "Tools >> Chart Values/Crosshair" if not already selected. If the crosshairs do not show immediately, then left-click in that chart to make the crosshairs show up. If they do not show, then stop here and let us know. - Click on the chart on the right to make it active, then select "Tools >> Chart Values/Crosshair" if not already selected. If the crosshairs do not show immediately, then left-click in that chart to make the crosshairs show up. If they do not show, then stop here and let us know. - Make sure both charts are scrolled to the end, so you are viewing the most recent bar in both charts. - Move your pointer to the chart on the left and verify you are able to see the crosshairs. fabulous instructions.. so detailed and easy for me to follow. All steps complete. All the steps worked EXCEPT the last one. "Move your pointer to the chart on the left and verify you are able to see the crosshairs. You should see the crosshairs in the chart on the right as well" The crosshair shows on the left, but not on the right and visa versa. it only shows on each chart individually. Thanks again John!!! |

When you get through this, and if you still are not getting the cursor showing in both charts, then please get us an image with the crosshairs on and only displaying in one chart. If possible, also get us an image of your "Tools" menu open so we can verify the "Global Cursor On" and "Synchronize Charts" have the checkmarks showing properly.
