I noticed in this thread: Notice: Solution to: Chart/Chartbook Tabs Visibility Issues, Portions of Chart Window Cut Off

You noted we could go back to 2813 before all the windowing stuff was redone, but there were some additional posts on that thread after the 2813 suggestion.

Is it still valid to go back to 2813? My windowing issues continue. Constant flashing of minimized windows in the middle of my charts when I change chartbooks, windows not left in the state they were in, minimized windows not really "minimized" as a child MDI window should be (appears as a small box in addition to the normal tab of a minimized child window) etc.

I'd rather just go back if I can. It's become a real annoyance rearranging things and having to click to bring the chart I'm interested in up from behind the spurious junk.

It's probably just my particular combination of hardware and software. I'd just like it to work like it used to.

I surely hope you will get this ported to Linux ASAP. I abandoned Windows long, long ago.
Thanks

This has been fixed in recent releases:
windows not left in the state they were in,

We can help you with this:
. Constant flashing of minimized windows in the middle of my charts when I change chartbooks,

We specifically designed the changes so it is no problem going back to 2813 and earlier. So window position and sizes are maintained identically as they should be. Although, as we think about this some more, the minimized and maximized states, will not be properly restored when downgrading to 2813. This is something we need to resolve. So we want you to wait and we will put out a new release, to solve this.

And also though we do think that your issues can be resolved. But anyway downgrading is fine but wait until 2882 which you will need to update to save your Chartbooks and you will need to downgrade.

And there are also backup Chartbooks available:

Ok will wait, thanks. Also, I found your thread regarding a port to Linux. Glad to hear there may be something soon using the Wine system call abstraction layer.

I was a developer for years, and worked in QA as well before I retired. If you will need beta testers for the port, I would be happy to help!

Thanks 👍
