Hello, I'm trying to create a formula to color when the green line crosses above the black line or crosses below.

The general function to use to test for crossing is "CROSSOVER()". Refer to the following:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SpreadsheetFunctions.html#CROSSOVER_Function

Although there are other functions like "CROSSFROMABOVE()" and "CROSSFROMBELOW()", which are also defined in that same section linked above.

To test the crossover between two studies, you would enter the following:
=CROSSOVER(ID1.SG1, ID2.SG1)

Where ID1 is the ID of the first study and SG1 is the subgraph that is to be tested from that study. ID2 is the ID of the second study and SG1 is the subgraph from that study to be tested.

You have not defined what you want to color nor how you want to color it based on the conditions. If you need help with this, then let us know.

John, thank you. I want to color the bars. when the green line crosses above the the black line to signal a top and when the green lines crosses below signaling a bottom.

attached is a photo , red circles is the area that would signal tops and pink circles is the signals that would color bottoms

Are you only wanting this to occur when both the black line and the green line are positive and both are negative?

For instance, as the time of 08:00 on January 2, 2026 there is green line above the black line, but the black line is negative, so we do not think you want this included.

Let us know if there are other considerations as well, and we can then point you in the proper direction.

If the green line crosses above the black line and both are positive that would color a bar ( over bought ), if the green line crosses below the black line and both are negative that would color a bar ( over sold )
