SC not Connecting to Rithmic Data Feed

Hi SC,

My SC platform is not connecting to Rithmic data feed.

I assume this problem is with Rithmic and not SC? (I've emailed Rithmic).

I've a similar problem, I use Denali-data and a Rithmic-connection just to route the orders, but it doesn't connect to Rithmic. I've tried to use R-Trader Pro with this connection and it works without problems.

I could solve the problem with switching to the European-server. From time to time SC has problems connecting to the Chicago-server.

The problem is on the Rithmic side. It is the Rithmic interface that Rithmic provides to Sierra Chart that is having a problem. It is not with Sierra Chart:

yes maybe Rithmic doesn't provide the correct interface for SC, it is just funny that it works with all other platforms, but as already said, it is not the first time that SC has problems with the Chicago-server, with other servers it works fine.

Hello,

I’m experiencing an issue with the Rithmic connection on Sierra Chart. Everything had been working perfectly for over a year, and I haven’t changed any settings — but today, I can no longer connect.

I’ve tried all available Rithmic server options. I usually connect through “Rithmic 01 - Chicago Area - Non-Aggregated” because I trade exclusively on COMEX. However, switching to other servers (like Europe) is not an option for me — none of them work for COMEX access, and I’ve tried them all.

Additionally, I don’t have the option “Rithmic Trading via R|Trader (DTC)” in the Data/Trade Service Settings. I’ve checked carefully, and the only Rithmic option I see is Rithmic Direct - DTC.

How can I resolve this issue? Do I need to install or activate something else to get the missing service to appear?

Rithmic reported to us, the connectivity issue was related to a problem with an ISP.

SC Engineering - really appreciate the help even though the issue is/was with Rithmic (who are useless at responding to support queries!).

I'm still having the same "Permission Denied" issue even though I've followed your resolution procedure. Up until yesterday I've never seen this error before.

Is their anything else to try from SC side?

Note: I'm going around in circles with this one as my broker (APEX) is saying it's an interface problem with SC. I've told them it's not SC it's with Rithmic. And I guess Rithmic is probably telling APEX that it's not them it's with SC!

First, the permission denied error is a long-standing issue with Rithmic. We have told them to provide a more descriptive message as to exactly what the problem is. But they just simply cannot due to their architecture.

Other than the information we provide here we do not know the cause:

The only thing that could be on the Sierra Chart side, related to this is not having the right Server selected and not having the correct username and password entered, which are supported by that Server. Those settings are in Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Main Settings >> Service Settings.

hi I had never had this problem before yesterday and the only thing that made it work was switching to rithmic paper trading- chicago rather than rithmic 01 chicago since the change I no longer have any authorization problems if that can help you.
