Hi, I'm sorry for the basic question, but I've been searching and searching and haven't been able to find a answer. My TICK-Nasdaq shows diferent candle sizes, similar to volume based candles. Does this represents/relates to the number of stocks that "overall" are ticking up, for example?. I'm saying this because, if 50 stocks trade from down to up, then the "tick" adds 100 (50 x 2). But if 50 stocks just up tick, then the tick adds only 50 (50 X 1). But in the first case there were 100 stocks trading and the other there were only 50. Is this the explanation for the diferent candle size? Please help. Thanks |

Hi, thanks for your reply. What Im asking is, please look at the attachment in the TICK NASDAQ: Candle 1 (highlighted in yelow) is more thicker than the candle 2 (also highlighted in yelow). What does this difference means? What does it mean one candle being more thinker the other? Thanks |

First, in order for us to be able to clearly understand this, open a separate chart for that symbol. It must be a separate chart and add the Volume study. Otherwise, there is no way we can properly interpret this at all. And only post an image of the chart by following these instructions: Support Board Posting Information: Attaching or Posting a Screenshot/Image (Optional) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Check the "Graph Draw Type" at the top of the Subgraphs tab for that study and see if it is set to "Price Volume Bars". Change it to the bar type you want if it is not set as you want.

Hi John, Thank you for your explanation, but please, see photo in attachment. What I want to understand is, what does the Volume in the bars represent? If the Tick_nasdaq represents the stocks ticking up and down, what does the volume in a Bar represents? Because with the candlestick bars in the Tick_Nasdaq, it represents the open/close/high/low of the number os stocks ticking up and down. For exaxmple, in the circle in yellow, why is it larger then the candle in the circle in orange. What does it mean, one being larger and the other thinner. Thanks in advance. |

Regarding post #6, this is not within the scope of our support. This is a complex set up, and it is not within the scope of our support, to analyze this, and explain how all of that configuration is working. But basically the volume data, for market statistics is simply the number of value updates within a given timeframe. Some market statistics, provide volume values but that is part of the open, high, low, and last trade fields. And those fields are already documented.
