Can Changing SC default colors slow performance?

I spent sometime last night tweaking several colors in both Global Graphic Settings and Chart Graphic Settings. Now Sierra is verging on unusable it so slow. Moving my trades takes a long time. I really wish I knew what happened to the performance.
I added a Time and Sales window as well. I thought that might be the issue so I removed it and it's still extremely slow.

(Data Delay - DD) is showing 00:00:00
I can't find any Studies that are showing more than 2 ms. Virtually all studies are 0 ms
Running version 2708

Changing colors will not affect performance. There has to be something else going on. Refer to the following:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often

I've been through all those items and changed as much as I could. But since yesterday, all I did was add a Time and Sales window, which I've now removed and changed several colors. I've restarted my machine, reloaded and recalculated every chart (insert keyboard).
Can I send you my data logs for you to review?
I have 2 instances of SC running. I'd need some assistance on how to go about sending you the relevant logs, because both instances are VERY slow.
Just moving drawings around with the Hand Tool now has significant lag. Picking a line tool takes a very long time to register my mouse selection.

The rest of my computer is running fine.
I have a very high end machine.
I've allocated SC to run 'above normal' in the power settings as well.

Just Now, I simply tried to minimize a chart. This action caused SC to freeze, then about 15 seconds later SC disconnected itself from the internet and will not reconnect. The associated message logs are not working either so I can't read a message for a possible idea as to what is happening.

The two main graphics items that cause slowdowns are having a large number of bars displayed on the chart and having transparencies. Check if your charts have either of these and correct them. Do not use transparencies at all, if possible.

This has gotten worse. SC wont progress through the startup process long enough for me to activate the Message Log. Everything just freezes up and nothing functions. My mouse has no effect on any buttons.
I have tried starting SC in Safe Mode and that has not worked either.

Also, up until this morning everything SC related was great. Everything was running perfectly. Now, for some reason, SC wont even start.

Restart Sierra Chart and when the Login window shows up select "Cancel" to stop the automatic login. Then on that Login screen deselect the option for "Open Files on Startup".

Sierra Chart should open without a problem. If it doesn't, then let us know.

Once it opens up, select "File >> Find Symbol" and open an intraday chart for a symbol you use. Make sure everything is working fine in this scenario. If this works well, then please get us a Chartbook that you are using that causes you trouble and we'll see if we can reproduce the problem on our end with your chartbook. Follow these instructions to get us the chartbook:

If you have trouble with even opening a single chart, let us know. If you can get the Message Log in that case, then please send it to use so we can take a look.

I just sent the message log for the subinstance of SC that is causing issues. In that message log it says: Did not receive Encoding Response from server, Disconnecting. Hopefully this can help diagnose the issue.

It appears there is some corrupt file that is causing SC to lock up.
I've tried deleting ALL .SCID files and re-downloading hoping that would help but it didn't.

Update:
A combination of deleting all my SCID files and starting SC as you suggested with 'Open Files on Startup' disabled, then introducing each Chartbook separately helped. There was on Chartbook that, when I opened it this way, was able to download the data it needed to work properly. At least that's what appeared to have happened.

Now, things seem to be working again as they should.

FWIW, I also turned on Open GL as I read a post about this and thought that might help. Maybe now I'll bring back the Time and Sales window I was working on last night.
If you find anything in the Message Log I sent, please let me know.
Thank you.

If the main instance is locking up then the Sub-Instance will stop working properly. A Sub-Instance (started with File >> New Instance) get the data and sends trades through the main instance. We assume that the errors stating "DTC - Sub Instance | Did not receive Encoding Response from server. Disconnecting. *" are coming about since the main instance is locked up at that time.

We would really need to see your main instance Message Log to see if there is anything in there that can point to a problem. If you have an issue again and if you can get to the Message Log for that main instance, then please get it to us.

We do want to point out that you are downloading and viewing a lot of data in your charts. This, in itself, could be part of the problem. You may want to start some additional Sub-Instances and move some of the larger charts to other instances to help with overall calculation and memory usage.
