Using 'write bar and study data to file' not writing buy/sell from spreadsheet

Hi, I do not normally like to post here as I usually find the answers online but I cannot find any answer why it's doing this. Previously I would load up my chart with indicators, put in my spreadsheet study and then I would be able to write it all to csv and the buy / sell columns using the "write bar data and study data" indicator and the csv would contain the price if the buy / sell entry condition was triggered at that particular time. But recently, I have been doing exactly the same and it is not exporting the buy / sell columns to my csv. I cannot figure out why. I am not sure what I did before when it exported the buy / sell prices as columns called "Buy Entry" and "Sell Entry". I just put it on the chart and exported it and it worked. Now it's not working. I do not know what I am doing differently. I tried to start from a clean start and it is still not exporting the "Buy Entry" and "Sell Entry" columns. I do not understand why it's stopped doing what it was doing before all of a sudden. Another problem I have is spreadsheet trader not automatically copying down formulas in column K and L for some reason, sometimes it does but about 10% of the time it doesn't and I have to restart and open new charts and eventually it does again. We are not seeing any issue with "Write Bar and Study Data to File" and the subgraphs in the "Spreadsheet System for Trading". Are the subgraphs in the "Spreadsheet System for Trading" hidden? By default, the "Write Bar and Study Data to File" does not output hidden subgraphs. You can change that in the Inputs for the study - or you can change the status of the subgraphs. Hi, thanks for your reply. As you advised I changed the input for the study (which I assume is the box "Based On:"), I changed that directly to the spreadsheet and now it prints out exactly what the spreadsheet says. This is helpful, and does fix the issue, however still when it sets to <Main Price Graph>, it does not print out anything from the spreadsheet. Is it supposed to? I am certain I have written data to file before with this indicator with it set to <Main Price Graph> and it has printed the Buy Entry and Sell Entry columns of the spreadsheet. Thanks. |

We did not suggest changing the "Based On". You should not need to do that. First, are you using the "Write Bar Data to File" or "Write Bar and Study Data To File". These are two different studies and you need the "Write Bar and Study Data to File" to do what you want. Second, if you are using the "Write Bar and Study Data to File", then make sure the subgraphs of the "Spreadsheet System for Trading" are not hidden. Or, if they are hidden, and you want them to be, then you need to change the Input on the "Write Bar and Study Data to File" for "Include Hidden Subgraphs" to "Yes". We can not think of any other reasons why you would have a problem with this. Hi, I am definitely using 'write bar and study data to file' and include hidden subgraphs is set to yes (not that any subgraphs are hidden). Yet I can assure you when I open the csv file, there are no columns for 'Buy Entry' and 'Sell Entry'. Not sure what more I can do - I can send the .csv files? I have one .csv file that does have the buy entry/sell entry column (when based directly on the spreadsheet) and when based on the main chart, it does not.

Please get us that chart with only the Spreadsheet System for Trading and the Write Bar and Study Data to File on it. Make sure that you continue to have the problem with this chart you are going to send us.
