Hello,

Searched through the forum without finding anything.

As Sierra Chart is running in the background, I want to get an alert when the price of an instrument made a certain distance in points.

So f. e. when NAS100 CFD moves 150 points in the actual candle, I want to get an alert.

Is that possible and if yes, how?

Many thanks!

Yes, it is possible, but we need more information on exactly what you are wanting to do.

For instance, if you want to be alerted when the symbol reaches a certain price, then use the Symbol Alert option for this. Refer to the following:
Alerts Manager: Symbol Alerts

If you want an alert when the price has moved 150 points from some specific point in time (such as the open, or something else) then we would need to know what that point is to help you setup the alert. Or, if you are wanting it within a single candle, then are you wanting to know movement from the Open or from the Low of the bar?

It is the later, as 150 points across several candles is a different outcome vs. 150 points up/down in only one candle.

Ideally xxx points from the candle open and before the candle close. If candle close can be chosen in addition, even better.

Many thanks again for your quick reply on this request, appreciated.

If you want to see a movement of 150 points within a single candle from Open to Close, then use the following Alert formula:
=(C - O) >= 150

Thank you! Where to add it, as it is not related to a certain indicator?

There is an Alert option on the Chart Settings window - you can put it there for the chart you are monitoring.
