I am brand new to SC and currently using a trial version to see if I can accomplish what I am looking for. All I want to do is use the playback feature. I was able to get a couple charts loaded up but still I am not finding some symbols and want to double check that I have the correct symbols. What data package would I need to purchase to get historical data for these symbols ($TICK, $ADSPD, $VIX.X, SPY, $SPX.X)? And/Or if these symbols are available under different names? I just need some help getting started.

I am using SPX500 for $SPX.X is this the correct equivalent for the cash index? What data package will this come in?
I am using TICK-NYSE for $TICK is this the correct equivalent or is there something else?

The others I could not find and am wondering where to look. Thank you and sorry for such a small thing. SC is kinda overwhelming at first.

For now this is correct but we also have a NASDAQ Global index equivalent:
I am using SPX500 for $SPX.X is this the correct equivalent for the cash index? What data package will this come in?
Refer to:
Denali Exchange Data Feed: Nasdaq Global Index Data Feed

We will be offering the actual S&P 500 cash index in about a month.

Correct:
I am using TICK-NYSE for $TICK

For SPY just use that same symbol.

What are these others?:
$ADSPD, $VIX.X,

$VIX.X is just VIX - CBOE Volatility Index https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/index/vix

$ADD is advance & decline and I'm pretty sure $ADSPD is for the S&P 500 specifically. Trade Station labels it as
$ADSPD S&P 500 Advancing Issues – Declining Issues Difference (AMEX, NASDAQ and NYSE)

We do not have the data for the VIX.

With regards to Advance/Decline refer to the following for what we have for Market Statistics:

OK thank you for the responses. One last question on this topic. If I were to purchase a data connection else where that had the symbols specifically that I want - I am able to add that to SC, is that correct? I would purchase the ability to add outside data sources from SC and then I could bring that data in?

You can only connect to outside data sources that we support. This would be CQG, Rithmic, Interactive Brokers, or IQ Feed.

SC has VOLX Mini VIX. It is located in CFD-FXCM indexes under Available Symbols. VOLX is about 10% higher than VIX.

Yes, there is that, and there are other possible items in the NASDAQ Global Index data. We apologize for not bringing these up, as we thought you were just wanting the real VIX.
