My trade window stopped working.

I tried to enter a trade. The chart shows the price line stop line but when the price moves up to hit the price nothing happens. I called the brokerage and no trade was made. The stop line says "child-client" whatever that means. Don't remember seeing that before. Please fix this so I can trade.

A Child-Client means that this Stop was waiting for the main order to fill before it became an active order on the exchange. The question is what happened to the parent order, since this apparently never filled, but it does not sound like it is on the chart.

Take a look at your "Trade >> Trade Service Log" to see if there was a rejection for the parent order, which then left the stop abandoned.

The trade service log says: tradeactivity files query time 0.000594 seconds entries 0 current queries 1. Something is still not right. I still get the same child client message when I tried again to enter an order this time in simulated mode. Thanks

Who is your broker? You really should move to Teton order routing for server side bracket orders:

Otherwise, with CQG these orders are not server-side and you will see Child-Client. That is also normal for Trade Simulation Mode.

As far as what the issue is in your case we do not know. You have to analyze the Trade Activity Log:

And most important. You are running an older version of Sierra Chart. Be sure to update!:
