Bug in chart days loading

Chart B is linked to chart A, symbol change only. Chart B has a date range to start at the current date, though the behavior is the same when I set to load 1 day. When I change the symbol of chart A to a symbol that I have not accessed today, chart B changes symbols, and loads several days of data, even though it should only be loading 1 day. This messes up my study/price overlays which are only supposed to show 1 day of data.

It is very unlikely there is a bug here. We would have to say it is next to impossible.

In the chart image, the chart you are showing is being referenced by two other charts and it can have its Days to Load setting changed. You would see a message like this in the log:
"Chart Settings have been synchronized between Destination chart number ".

We can see that that chart is not using the Days to Load setting, but it may have had more data loaded in the chart because it may not have been reloaded today. However, based upon what you are saying it seems as though it was reloaded with the symbol change.

However, its settings can be changed to the charts which are referencing it depending upon the type of references.

It is really hard for us to say what is going on because we cannot reproduce this and we do not know exactly what the overall chart and study setup is and exactly what you have done.

We are not really trusting what you are showing because it does not really make sense with how things work.

There are too many unknowns here for us to provide further help.

So if there is a problem still, we really need some simple Chartbook to demonstrate this because we do not know how to duplicate it.

Attached. So after connecting to IQFeed, change the symbol on the main chart. Try a few different stocks. At least some of them should be such that you see the VWAP beginning yesterday and running through today. If you then change symbols and change back, it will be correct, with the VWAP starting today. This will only work today, and will not work again the same way until Tuesday so if you can just try it out today.

OK we have an idea about the problem now. It has to do with an empty data file that is being downloaded. This will be solved the next release. This is a special kind of scenario where data limitation was not implemented with loading data during a download from an empty file.
