HELLO, so I've tried several studies and some formulas ( all I was able to do was getting white lines everywhere) to get highlights based off the below subgraph in the attached photo. the subgraph is a price overlay study from a higher time frame chart.

Tell us precisely what you want to accomplish with specifics on the Inputs (what are the triggers) and Outputs (what do you want to see).

Hello, so based off the slope on the bottom, I'd like a vertical highlight in the background or triangle below the candle to be generated. so when it turns orange, orange highlight or orange triangle and so on for the other colors of the slope |

You would want to use the Color Bar Based on Alert Condition to either change the background or place some kind of marker. If you want different colors for different situations, then you would need a Color Bar Based on Alert Condition for each color/situation that you want (one for green, one for orange, one for red, etc.). We do not know enough about what you have in the bottom region and how you have defined the coloring. But you need to replicate the information for the different colors into the Color Bar Based on Alert Condition study. For instance, if the coloring is based on slope, then you would enter the following Alert for the Color Bar Based On Alert Condition study to indicate a positive slope: =ID1.SG1[-1] < ID1.SG1[0] This is checking to see if the previous value is less than the current once, hence a positive slope. You need to define the ID and SG based on your actual setup. Refer to the following for the Color Bar Based on Alert Condition: Color Bar Based on Alert Condition Refer to the following for how to write alerts: Study/Chart Alerts And Scanning For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
