Symbol Data Limiting Period in Chart Settings Ignored

Dear SC Support Team,

as you know, the size of the .scid files can get huge.
So, in order to free some disc space, I deleted them.

The problem is, that upon the next start of SC, the set data limiting (on some symbols/charts 2 days, on others max. 30 days) in each chart's settings is completely ignored by SC and it now takes ages to download all the symbol data from way earlier than the limit of days set in each chart. (Can't check how far back now, as SC does not react during the downloading...).
Apart from taking ages, it results in the scid-files being huge immediately again.
(So, my deletion to free up hard disc space was pretty much in vain (apart from some scid files that are not used anymore)).

Is there anything I am missing concerning on how to properly limit the number of days of data to download in the settings somewhere?
Or is this some sort of bug that needs to be fixed?

I use SC/Denali data by the way, so, it is also not a question of any settings of external data providers in the data/trade services settings. Stupidly, I checked it in the "SC Data - All services" settings just after the downloading of the data (which took like 1 hour!!), reducing the number of days there...and then the whole slow downloading procedure of historical data, with SC not reacting to anything, started again, in spite of the previous download also having been Denali and SC CFD data!!)
And it gets even worse: When I then switched back to Rithmic (for order routing, only, no data feed!), the downloading started again!!
What is this?? Will it ever stop? It's insane!

(Frankly, I had noticed such an issue way back in the past, when putting on an intraday chart with a new symbol, with the chart setting clearly limiting the data to 2 days...yet the platform downloaded data of (if I remember correctly) several months, taking a long time! Back then I did not bother contacting support about it, though...)

Thank you in advance for any feedback.

Just to add to my above post:
FINALLY, the weird downloading stopped.
But only after activating "Reload and Recalculate" on each individual chart, I could reduce the days the data is shown in the past.
However, the scid files still remain huge.
Frankly, the way this (the data limitation) is handled does not make much sense to me...

Reduce this setting:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/DataSourceSettings.php#MaxHistoricalIntradayDaysToDownload

Also in the case of Continuous Futures Contract charts which you may be using, when there is a need for data for a particular symbol, all the active days for a particular contract month are downloaded. Set this particular setting to None:
Continuous Futures Contract Charts: Continuous Futures Contract Rollover Options

This is because the symbols are different.:
And it gets even worse: When I then switched back to Rithmic (for order routing, only, no data feed!), the downloading started again!!

Yes that is true and is documented here:

Thank you for the feedback and sorry for the late reply.
I will have a look at the different settings you mentioned.

However, this...:
This is because the symbols are different.:
And it gets even worse: When I then switched back to Rithmic (for order routing, only, no data feed!), the downloading started again!!
What is this?? Will it ever stop? It's insane!

...appears a bit strange to me. Because as mentioned, I am not getting Rithmic data (only using their order routing for evaluation accounts), but SC's Denali and free CFD data;
and during the switching back and forth from Rithmic to SC data and then back to Rithmic in the data/trade service settings, I did not translate the symbols. So, why should it start the whole download frenzy again, when I switched back to Rithmic?

But anyway, thanks again for your feedback.
