I would like to set up custom buttons (on my keyboard) for the sell and buy limit that uses the brackets. for instance, atm I right-click and hit sell or buy limit order in which it uses the brackets data to execute. it includes child SL and TP. I will attach down below images to clarify what I mentioned.

We believe that you are asking for a "Buy Limit" and "Sell Limit" keyboard shortcut.

The reason why there are not keyboard shortcuts available for this is because if you just use the keyboard, how would the system know at what price you would want to place the order?

When you use the mouse, it is able to use the position of the mouse to determine the price level at which to place the order.

If you are asking about how to attach different attached orders, then this can be done by using different trade configurations. Refer to the following:

couldn't it just see where my mouse is located & just set a limit on it?
Is there any work around it?

I would like to see this feature as well. I understand I can use the Trading DOM but I would prefer to be able to work from the chart with a hotkey.

It would be nice to have a new set of limit order options, such as "Buy/Sell Limit at Cursor Position".

Buy Limit and Sell Limit can be added to the Right Click context menu and these limits are placed at the cursor location. So, its clear this is technically possible and should not be difficult. I ALSO would like to use a hot key to place a limit order at current cursor position ( price level ); because it is so much easier when "pointing" with the cursor at price levels on a footprint.

I am working around this with a hotkey program called Macro Express 5. Other hotkey programs like AutoHotKey were not reliable in my experience.

I added right click menu options for Buy Limit and Sell Limit in Sierra Chart as described in post 5, putting them first in the list.

Then, I created a macro that performs this sequence when I press a hotkey, such as ALT+B.

Right click > 20ms delay > Press B key > 20ms delay > Press Enter

This opens the context menu, highlights the Buy Limit option with "B", then selects it with "Enter." The short delays give the system enough time to react to the commands. For Sell Limit, just create another macro and replace the "B" with "S".

This method works well but has limitations, the main one being if you invoke the shortcut over a drawing it brings up the drawing context menu and the macro may not work as expected. Also, you can't move the mouse while the macro is playing or you might select the wrong menu option or price.

Since Sierra Chart can handle placing limit orders at the cursor from the right click menu, I hope that we will soon have the ability to add a hotkey for these commands.

This would make execution a lot easier. Especially with a nice gamers mouse with hotkeys you would then be able to point with the cursor/crosshair and hit buy limit or sell limit hotkey/mouse-button at this specific cursor price.

+1 - Quantower has this feature; they call it "mouse trading".

Anyhow, it would be super useful for adding scale out positions. The right menu is ok, but a lot of clicks for no good reason.

In the next release there will be these two new commands:

Trade Sell Limit at Current Pointer Price
Trade Buy Limit at Current Pointer Price

You can place a buy or sell limit using a keyboard shortcut or control bar button at the current price being pointed to with the pointer.
