I tried again thinking I was following exactly the same process, but the Verified Trading Accounts Ending Date in my account control panel has not updated and still shows it expires 2 weeks from now.

Is this because I should only do once a month rather than say every week (to make sure I always have a months buffer in case I forget), or is it more likely I have done something wrong?

When you make the connection to your live trading account, the verification date will update to 30 days from the date on which you made the connection.

Therefore, you must have done something wrong, or at least it did not update properly. Please try to do the connection again to your live account when you have a moment and see if the verification date updates.

What trading service are you trying to connect to, so we can point you to the proper connection instructions to ensure that everything is entered properly?

Hi, since I emailed you I have managed to get it to work fine again once, but since then am struggling to get the date in the account control panel to update again.

It is interactive brokers and the I have followed the instructions

I tried it again and it worked this time, so not sure why it seems to work only now and again.

We are glad you got it to work.

The only thing we can think of as to why you might have had an issue is that perhaps you did not have the Interactive Brokers software running when you tried to make the connection and it did not work. With IB you are connecting to their software on the local system, so it needs to be running in order to get the connection.

Hi,
Back to this issue again, it looks like from the log that it thinks it is updating the verified end date, but this doesn't get reflected in the account info. Any idea why not?

Yes that is true because there is a certain rule that is followed. If there is more than two weeks (we would have to check on the exact time) remaining then it will not update for your account.

Thanks. It would be great if you put this detail in the online instructions. I've spent a lot of time trying to get it to work - now I know why it wont!
