Hi, I was just trading and then all of the sudden I can't place an order. I took two trades back to back, both winners. I'm in a tryout account but the Account Monitor/Balance window shows that trading has not been locked, I haven't broken any of their rules, I haven't violated any of the global profit loss management settings, I'm not trading more contracts than the maximum setting under symbol settings and trading is not locked and trading keyboard shortcuts are enabled and yet I can't place an order from the keyboard or the chart via right click and select from chart shortcut menu.

Can you please help me figure out what is going on? Maybe a remote session?

Thanks

We need to see the information in the Trade Service Log. Select Trade >> Trade Service Log and copy and paste the information in that window to this thread for us to see what is occurring.
For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:

I tried to place an order again and it didn't work so I looked at the trade service log and it said I had the wrong amount of lots selected for my trade configuration. So I selected the right amount and I was able to enter an order successfully.

So now my question is, if I originally had "3" selected for my order quantity, why did it automatically switch to 2? Is there any reason that could have happened or must it have been that I somehow changed the quantity on accident? I was executing with the keyboard at the time the issue occurred so I couldn't have used my mouse to change the quantity selection.

Thanks, at least I know that I should check the trade service log in the future if there's a problem.

There are a number of possibilities. First, you might have changed the quantity by accident. Refer to the information here for some of the ways the quantity can be changed:
Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Main/C >> Order Quantity Buttons

Second, it's possible that some trades were done on one chart and then you tried to trade from another chart that had a different quantity. It's even possible that you were looking at the wrong Trading Window (if you were using it) for the chart. Refer to the information here:
Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Trade Window Settings Not Applying to Chart or Trading DOM
