Hello,

I currently use Tradestation as my broker. From what I have read on the support board, Tradestation data is unable to be connected to Sierra Chart. Is this still the case? Secondly, I called Tradestation and they said they are able to use another data feed service called Futures Plus from Trading Technologies. If I am able to get them to switch my data feed to Trading Technologies, would this work with Sierra Chart and if so, how would I go about establishing the connection? I.e. what information do I need to obtain from Tradestation?

Thank you,
Connor

It is still the case that we can not work with Tradestation, as they do not support any of the trading/data services that we support. This is true for Trading Technologies as well (we do not support any data/trading with TT any further).

Why can’t I establish a data connection as is suggested in this link with Trading Technologies? Sierra Chart / Trading Technologies Futures Order Routing Service

First, that service linked above, is gradually going to be phased out and be replaced by our own direct CME and EUREX order routing.

And Sierra Chart has no support for market data from Trading Technologies. We only use them for order routing.

Ok. So if I switched brokers to Interactive Brokers where I would pay the professional real time data CME exchange fees, then I would have access to real time data in Sierra Chart along with full depth of market (Level 2) data?

As a separate question, would this also allow me to use Sierra Chart with real time data on 2 separate devices? I am currently an Advanced service subscriber.

You are going to have various issues using Interactive Brokers data. We strongly recommend against it. You can try but do not ask us about any problems with it when you encounter them.

We do recommend the Denali Exchange Data Feed:

Regarding the second question, refer to:

Just so I understand...if I only wanted real time data on ES and NQ, I could use the Denali feed CME E-mini for professionals at a total cost of $72.40 per month?

Yes for the extra cost of the Denali data feed and the exchange fee.

Thank you. Is it the case that if I pay for Denali + the CME E-mini for professionals through Sierra Chart, and connect to Interactive Brokers trading, I will not have to pay for exchange fees through Interactive Brokers? Interactive Brokers does not offer an E-mini only option for exchange fees, they only offer a $118 full CME option.

As long as you are trading through Sierra Chart, then you would not need the IB data. But if you are going to use their software for any trades, then you would need to have the data from them for their system (the Denali Exchange Data Feed only works with Sierra Chart).

-------------

If you are going to have an account with Interactive Brokers, that would work towards the qualification of a Non-Professional for the CME Group. Or are you considered a professional by the exchanges and need to get the Professional exchanges for that reason?

That is great news about being able to trade thru Sierra Chart without IB data. Thank you. I will not use their software for trading.

I am considered a Professional by the exchanges.
