Are the Chartbooks named the same and when you open one it is an "old" copy of it? Or are the new Chartbooks named a different name?

If the Chartbooks are different names then go to the Sierra Chart Data folder (typically C:\SierraChart\Data) and look to see if the new chartbooks are in the folder. If they are and you are not able to open them, then attach one of them to this thread for us to take a look at it. Also, let us know what happens when you try to open it (does it now show in the list of Chartbooks, or do you get an error message).

One possibility is that you may have two different installations of Sierra Chart. The "old" one and a "new" one. You must have done some work in the "new" instance and then gone back to the "old" one. Take a look through your file system to see if you can find two different installations. If so, then you can just copy the .cht (chartbooks) from the one to the other (whichever one is the one you want to use) and go forward from there.

i think i have both sierra versions on my C drive. Can i delete the one i don't need and then download the charts again?
i think this will solve the problem because all my other friends that have sierra can upload the new charts except me

In general you can delete the installation you do not need. Just delete the folder from your computer to remove it. There is not an "uninstall" option for Sierra Chart since we keep things very simple in terms of the program needs with the Operating System.

Just make sure you have the charts you need in the data folder in the installation you are keeping. We are not quite sure what you mean by "...download the charts again", unless you are getting your charts from someone else, in which case, you would be fine.

Hi John

Thanx again for the ultra high speed responses!
The charts i am taking from someone else, place them in the data file and then open them. that is the procedure i follow.
now the message that appears after trying to open the new charts is the following:

DOWNLOAD FAILED.ERROR DOWLOADING HISTORICAL INTRADAY DATA FOR F.US.EPU21. NO SECURITY DEFINITIONHAS BEEN FOUND FOR THE REQUEST.

Any ideas how to solve this?

Thanx again John!

Our information shows that your Service is set to "Interactive Brokers. The message you are getting shows that the symbol is for CQG.

After you open the Chartbook you get from someone else, you need to select Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service in order to change the symbols in the Chartbook to the symbols for the service you are using. You need to do this for the Chartbook you already opened.
