I noticed some delays trying to download historical data this afternoon. The message log had several of these messages:

In your case, the timeouts are occurring with this connection:
ds21.sierracharts.com port 10149

We are not observing any problem connecting to that server for historical data. Must be a local issue or an issue somewhere with your ISP or somewhere along the path of communication.

It is not a problem with the server itself.

I had a chance to look into it a bit more. I can connect to other ports on ds21.sierracharts.com, but not port 10149. I get the same results on three different systems, and with three different ISPs. I reviewed my firewall rules and even disabled it, but I still can't connect to port 10149.

We did later discover the issue that day.

This was an operating system level issue with the firewall on the server which caused the problem. It was a very strange malfunction but it was quite clear it was at the firewall level. It is a Microsoft operating system so this is concerning.
