I'm using IB data. I upgraded to latest SC version and IB TWS version this a.m. and am not getting any negative ticks on the TICK-NYSE-I-NYSE symbol. TWS chart shows properly.

I did a SC chart delete and refresh on the data and it pulls in the negative historical ticks then but real time won't report/record negative ticks.

We have been hearing about this, and we do not think it is an issue on our side. The easiest thing to do is to use the Sierra Chart Market Statistics:

Indications are that it is something on your side. If I can delete and refresh to get historical negative tick data, it would seem that it's something from SC that is rejecting the data write for negative numbers. I would think ticks are the only negative number that is ever recorded so you've probably coded some rejection of negative real time.

Also, I haven't done a side by side to know if your stats are accurate/consistent.

Sierra Chart will not reject negative numbers from the real-time data feed. No such filtering exists.

We have determined this is not an issue on the Sierra Chart side.

We cannot provide further help with this.

So just to recap:

- this a.m. $TICK is not working
- TICK-NYSE is garbage data
- IB data is working but not being recorded for negative ticks in SC - but that's not your problem, just your customer's problem

Thanks.

1. The $TICK symbol is discontinued.

2. We have put a lot of work into the new market statistics and how they are calculated is documented here:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/SCMarketStatistics.php

It is not fair to call them garbage data.

3. This is an Interactive Brokers problem and clearly they are incapable of solving it for you. You should contact them about this. The problem is that if they are not taking care of it for you, then they are incapable of resolving it.

Use a File >> New Quote Board and enter the IB TICK symbol on it or go to a chart for the IB TICK symbol and look at Window >> Current Quote Window. If you do not see any negative values for the last trade price or the bid or ask, then they are not sending the data. That is abundantly clear.

At this point, this thread is marked as a User Discussion.

3. And one reason why we have developed our market statistics and provide other market data ourselves now, is precisely to avoid this kind of problem which is presented in this thread. We want to provide solid working solutions.

It is not good, when a customer thinks the problem is on our side when it is not and expect us to fix it when we can't and then the actual service provider in this case Interactive Brokers, does not help you to resolve the problem.

There is a massive difference between us and Interactive Brokers. When you contact us, if something is within our control to resolve, we will understand it and resolve it right away because you are speaking directly to the engineers. That is not the case with Interactive Brokers. And that is why you should question whether Interactive Brokers is appropriate for your needs. We support many other Trading services as well.

SC Engineering - you were absolutely right and I was wrong.

Updating to the latest version of IB software solved the problem. I am now on build 943.2a if that helps solve other problems out there.

I sincerely apologize.
